Your most 'WTF' Beam down Moments.

The game of Starbound has a large number of worlds with many interesting landmarks and discoveries, many of such are right there when you beam down! Some are rather nice to find... while others....

My starting planet on a new character, beamed down right between two very surprised bots.


Who then greeted me a little to hard.



The planet also has two other labs on it. Got a nice 10 damage sword out of it.

 

Honestly my most WTF beam down was getting hit and killed by a meteorite before the beam animation was even complete...

 

Juice Box joined the ilovebacons.com server only to beam down to every boss in the game x69.
Juice Box got juiced.

 

I once beamed into an asteroid field and started to fall to my death. I just BARELY managed to miss every landing spot by switching directions at the exact wrong moments and fell through :/

 

Mine was also when I beamed down to an asteroid field, except that it beamed me down one block above the bottom of the world... Insta-kill...

 

Beaming right into a house with a hostile NPC screaming "heathen!" right next to me.

On a different note, I've recently beamed right into an Avian town within a magma/volcanic biome on a Sector Alpha arid planet, which was a much more pleasant surprise. Thinking of setting up shop there and praying that doing so doesn't expose the place to a meteor shower...

 

My first tentacle planet. That music is perfect.

(Tentacles would look a lot better animated though.)

 

I beamed right into a crashed spaceship full of robots trying to eat my face... That was fun....

 

I once got teleported smack into the middle of a small, abandoned Apex facility. One of the tiny ones with poison water in the bottom and a chest in the middle of it. Guess where I ended up?

 

Same here for the last starter planet I had.

 

Teleported down to a new planet with about 5k pixel on hand only to find myself in a pit with these tesla spikes. Got killed and found myself in a loop with the animation of reanimating. The whole time you could hear these tesla spikes shocking me. Never once ended up back on the ship. Just the animation loop. By the time I killed the game I had about 300 pixels left.

 

Landed about 5 feet from a Boss who then chewed me to bits fun times lol

 

Oh snap. That sounds naaaasty

 

today i got beamed down on a planet with stalagmites or spikes in a hole about 4 block wide and 10 block high, i couldnt jump out and i frantically tried making a hole in the wall in vein lol

 

Spawned inside a mountain.
Spawned in an acid pool.
Dug a really deep hole right on my spawn and I only beamed down so far as the cavern layer or whatever it is. Fell the rest of the way and splat. xD

 

That moment for me was when I beamed down to a Threat 10 Planet, in my lovely hylotl birthday suit, just to see if I could ninja and not get hit at all. Only to be greeted by two minibosses that instagibbed me for a couple minutes... That was fun. And by fun I mean bloody hilarious, I was laughing at my stupidity till I had around 20ish pixels...

 

My starter planet spawned me into one of those cultist crypts with the buzzsaws on the ceiling. Also I was like two blocks into the ground so I had to stand there and slowly kill the cultist with my starting sword before being able to free myself. At least I got a nice beam down safe area out of it.

 

Haha, I actually had that happen with my very first character. Beamed down to the planet and was greeted with a miniboss who insta-killed me. Took me like five deaths before I was able to lure it away from the spawn point.

 

A pool of poison under a bridge. This was my starter planet.

 

Mine were ranged, so there wasn't much luring happening. The second I spawned one of them shot a beam of greased lightening at my face as punishment. To be fair, there was originally only one, but the other mozied over when he saw the free foodstuffs.
