Your Ideal PvP Arena

    How would you build your PvP arena? Big, small, simple, complicated? Would you build traps, Spawn monsters?

    Personally I like a relatively simple medium sized arena with lots of platforms and levels.

    I'd build a large arena with some sort of pillars/FOV blockers to prevent being shot, also I think spawning monsters would be cheating, I imagine a PvP arenas purpose is to just duke it out, not use any kind of trickery. (Traps might be viable though :))

    Being a big sandbox architect myself, mine would probably be the most intricate, multi-level crap with catacombs, massive forts on each side without forgetting to put a middle ground thats good for both close and long range combat.
    Since i also like stuff that can be used for multiple stuff, the arena would be symetrical and the like for games of CTF and stuff like that.

    While i'd like to do the following too, i wouldnt put monster spawns or traps as i feel events outside the control of the participants would be lame

    If I went the intricate route I would try to build something like Class wars in Terraria. I love the idea of the different loadouts and classes in a team based game like CTF.

    i actually wrote a post about that in another thread. the problem is that if you get even one single unreliable player who dosent go by the rules, the whole thing crumbles

    With only 2 dimensions, you're kind of limited.
    Mine would be a map with multiple levels, sealed off with indestructible blocks to form the 'arena' structure and boundaries. Then areas with destructible blocks that regenerate over time (a minute or two) to open up the tactics a bit.
    A few 2-way teleports dotted around, and perhaps some traps would tie things off nicely.

    I'm not really a big fan of PvP on these types of games but I would love to see what some other people would come up with. I like very complex arenas though.

    The rooftops and alleyways of a futuristic city would be lovely.
    Tough in starbound I would probably just have a basic flat field.

    I'll probably have someone make a big arena, with monsters and stuff to fight, cuz that's what arenas are for.
    Really, it could be anything as long as the final blow to the final enemy is in slow-mo.

    if i had to choose...a Hamburger themed arena with random Zerg Rush Ai Spawned enemies. what's worse than surviving your enemy? surviving while A rush is on on top of a hamburger.

    Flat concrete floor field with walls on the outside and a few barricades in the middle to hide behind during gunfights.

    I know.
    Difficult terrain, both players start at one end with weak weapons but great armour, so they can hit each other around, but not really kill each other.
    At the other end is a lever that fills the place with lava, so it becomes a race to the lever. Or it could be hidden and you need to explore to find it.
    Or something like the mini MineZ that only has one water source, so you need to return to the centre to survive, forcing you to fight.

    i would make my arena an elevator room and inside those elevators are all kinds of monsters
    that way the person who dies last wins!!!!
