Your first reaction?

HEY FELLOW FUTURE STARBOUNDERS!
So, here's the deal: I'm bored and want to hear your first reaction to anything in/about Starbound (just saying: i know some information IS not 100% true/confirmed, so try your best to not make any posts saying "OMG NOOB THAT'S WRONG THAT'LL NEVER HAPPEN" or something towards me or someone else's post )
This can range from the very first thing you'll do in the game, your reaction to a boss kill, ect. (yes, i also know there's similar threads, but they're moreso specific than mine, so yknow..)
tl;dr i know my facts, help everyone else out, don't be a douche, ect

So, anyway, the first thing I'd probably do is make a spacegun. I mean, it's space, amirite? Either that, or actually do what I have to, such as in terraria or minecraft; which is collect basic resources.

 

Death? Pfft...

As for reactions, "Ooh, look at that... and that... and this... and that... OMG look at this!" for about 5 hours.

 

i want it to be like terraria, softcore, mediumcore, and hardcore.

 

Death is only the beginning.

 

I personally wouldn't mind this being a part of the difficulty options, as long as there is an option to keep my stuff on death. As far as whether I would play this way, It depends on how difficult the game is and how often you die among other variables. Ultimately if it becomes more frustrating than fun then no.

 

As far as dropping items goes, I really hope that if you CAN play in a mode that makes you drop them, it drops them into a chest of some sort, in the order you were carrying them. Loot all, rearranges your inventory to how it was before. I didn't care about dropping stuff whatsoever, but reorganizing for 5 minutes... >____<

 

I don't die in Starbound. My brain is preserved and placed in a reconstructed cyborg body so I can return stronger than before.

However, I did not ask for this.

 

I punch in the coords, beat it into a pulp, and then eat it's guts.

 

Loss is inevitable, one must always consider that their possessions may be gone with a mistake. But at the same time, they too must go on, learning from their mistakes, conquering what obstacle fell them, and being stronger for it! (oh and the possibility of getting your stuff back would be nice)

That is one lesson a GALACTIC HERO must learn.

 

haha nice thread! I will probably release a few choice profane words and then try to go back to get my items I dropped. If that doesn't work, then yes I will probably cry in the corner.....

 

Well, my habits tend to push me to the more difficult regions. So once i am there and die I won't be able to get my stuff back. Thus the only thing left to do is either call my friends or cry. Since i don't have any friends... i guess I will be crying that day.

 

Blame it on the lag, ragequit, say that I'm gone from the server for good, and come back tomorrow. Cycle continues until I grow an E-pair.

You lose your stuff but can get it back if you're playing on normal, but die on hardcore and your character is gone.

 

"Death penalties" are a stupid convention that needs to die by way of flamethrower. The penalty of dying is... Dramatic pause... DYING. Even when only on higher settings it's just a bad replacement for actual difficulty. Which is irritating, because if I want to play a hard game, I want to play a game that's actually hard, not faux hard.

 

Having a high end game stuff equip and die, and it despaqn before i get it back? Literaly sit in a corner and cry a river.

 

I hunt down whatever killed me and kick its ass.

Unless said creature doesn't have an ass to kick, then I'm in trouble
