YOUR First Home Planet!

I'm leaning towards something with torrential rain, preferably a swamp. In my head I see building a big landing pad just above the tree line, but I don't know if we teleport to the surface now or if we still take a drop ship as they originally mentioned. After that, just some wooden walkways (some covered, some not) across the murky water to a cave entryway where my home base will be.

I also have visions of building a floating island with the majority of the structures hanging/descending from the bottom of it, rather than the top (which I would try to preserve as nature intended, had nature intended floating islands, anyways). Same planet type though; always rainy and cloudy, swampy with lots of willow-like trees.

No? I'm very confused by your response... did I somehow misunderstand something? :saywhat:

A forest planet, with a huge city covering half of it. Even if it's limitless, still half of it.

I don't think that your -first- planet matters that much. It's the planet you call home that matters.
As for my first planet, however. I would probably pick a natural, minimally hostile world to get a feel of Starbound.

An irradiated planet, covered by some of the most powerful monsters known, as well as pockets of massive radioactivity.

Call it Vespasia, as I do most first things.
    Eh..
    Large, incredible base.

I'm sorry for not being specific enough lmao! That "bestseller" you were referring to, I believe, was written by me although correct me if I'm wrong :speechless: . It also seems that you have mistook the author as being whatsup747 because he quoted my post or at least that's what I think happened . lol :lolwut:

A well forested non infinite planet.

I will tear it all down and turn the planet into a giant factory.
The sky shall run black with smoke.

I would like to find a barren, deserted planet. i would proceed to hollow out the core and fill it with such mechanical wonders as to be worthy of a supreme overlord

My first home planet will probably be nothing special. Anyting with a nice color pallete, lots of vegetation, water, with mostly flat landscape and low level monsters. You know, to get the hang of it.

My ultimate home planet will be a 100 lvl infinite (or very large) planet, covered with dangerous jungle, preferably with very rough landscape, good amounts of water. Ideally it should also contain lava lakes/seas. I'd loved it to have mostly orange/green color pallete. If there won't be any jungle+lava planet available, then I'll probably made one myself eventually.

Yes I did quote it because it was pretty discriptive. And no I didn't write it

Spot on, a nice big snow planet to bury my feathers and shack up with a nice warm cup of something.
Log cabin with loads of underground tunnels and plenty of room for research.

Something far away, something peaceful and quiet~

Agreed, but if I had a choice, I'd like my first planet to be like, a desert planet with old, ruined, rusty steel buildings sticking out of the sand at odd angles and such.

... Yes. The Land of Sand and Ruins.

I think the only way to clear this up is for you to write a best seller Whatsup747! How about it? :DD

Hmm. The vision of my Ideal home planet/base of operations is a vast oceanic world with islands scattered around to create every conceivable biome. Taiga, tundra, temperate, grasslands. As many as possible and protected from interference by a thriving ocean filled with toothy things. Visitors to my humble abode will be struck by a number of inconsistencies.
Visitors on the surface will notice a lack of obvious artificial enhancement to the environment. A hatch here, a listening post there, the bulk of the artifices that a renegade researcher needs will be comfortably buried beneath the waves. Topside visitors might also notice an extreme amount of biodiversity, species from many planets cohabitating.
Beneath the surface will be the laboratories and more artificial bio-domes for more delicate or less co-operative specimens. Tanks filled with representatives of a thousand worlds shall pepper the conveyance system linking the myriad labs. The only obviously artificial construct on the planet proper will be situated atop the highest mountain, a starport capable of dealing with hundreds of filthy hitchhikers tourists. You will be weighed on arrival and departure, keep your receipts.
Of course the first and probably last oddity most visitors will notice will be that this blue jewel rich in biodiversity will be situated amongst the burned out, stripmined rubble of dead planets that will litter the surrounding systems, all those materials got to come from somewhere and I can always use a testing ground for new weapons.

My First home planet will likely be one of those dead planets as I can be careless when in search of resources.

What's the worst that could happen? You write a not very good post? I think I could live with that and risk the possibility that it might turn out pretty good. All you have to do is believe in me who believes in you!

I really liked your post! I like the concept of having an ocean world with many islands, each one being a different biome, very nice idea!
