Would we be able to pre-order through steam and get the bonuses (namely beta access), or is that something that must be done on this site? As someone said earlier, I don't really want to go through paypal and all that, assuming that's what you use

Three points I liked the most:

    - Supporting the developers during dev.
    - Cheaper than after beta
    - Steam key

Don't really care about the beta. I want the full game. So I would be pre-ordering it.

PayPal wont let me buy ANYTHING for some weird reason, I like STEAM and I have used amazonpayments before. :)

I tweeted you, as well, but my vote is for the Humble Store. It's a fantastic store front, plus it gives DRM-free options for those that want that, while also providing Steam keys for the gamers that want that option. Flexible, easy payment options, and a nice collection of previous games that have been purchased the same way.

Either way, preorders would be awesome - Chucklefish has legions of fans who are rabid to do anything they can to support you fine folks!

This is a great idea Tiy. The only suggestion I have is to narrow the beta release guarantee a little bit. Some people might get discouraged if you tell them, "you'll get the game at some point in 2013, and that's that." A guesstimate make people feel that they have a general date. Even if it's inaccurate, they have something to look forward to and they're not just waiting for who knows how long. My take on the situation. ;)

I would definitely pre-order the game the sec it becomes available. But i would prefer it to be on steam, not fond of paying for anything on untrusted websites.

Is it possible to get it on steam now that it has launched "early access games"?
I would love to buy it through playstarbound.com if not =)

I would really like to see starbound available for pre-order so that I can help you get to work full time on it. I for one would also pre-order the game if I can do it with credit card, since Paypal isn't really an option for me. About the whole, tiers only having Art/Soundtrack for more money invested, I really like that, you don't force the buyer to pay more to get the full game. TL:DR Pre-Order: Yes. Payment: Credit card. Tiers: Art/Soundtrack.

Sounds great! I actually like the humble store system as many of my indie games are already using it.

I'd love to be able to help you guys beyond the occasional suggestion. That Pre-Order system sounds awesome! :D

2013 is fine as a "deadline" for me. It's really broad, but still it's solid. We've waited so long, we can still wait a bit more! :) What's important at least for me is that there will be an actual "limit" to the waiting :)

First, i aprouve of the idea of the preorder, it will avoid alot of pepole rushing to get the beta. Steam keys are a clever idea too. Overall, i really like this idea. As for the time window, i do not really care mycelf, a good game comes with a tidy, long dev time. So take as mutch as you need to feel confortable for a release and have a smooth release.

Pretty much this. Would also be great to have a 4-pack deal with it. Honestly it doesn't even need to be through the early access system.
