If I get an eMail when the pre-order is up. ill give you money instantly!!! I like the idea of a tier system for people willing to offer more support ( and get some goodies :] ). I would be paying CC so any option for that would be supa sweet.

 

I think a preorder option is perfectly acceptable, and I would certainly make use of such an option. For those folks who worry about giving money over early without an immediate, tangible product response - simply don't pre-purchase, I say. That's your prerogative. Tiy said that the preorder (at all of the possible tiers) will be balanced in order to ensure that all purchases contain the full game content. Prepurchasing won't give access to bonus content with this model, regardless of how much money is given; it will simply allow beta access as well as a discounted price on the final game.

As far as tiers, I think the artbook/soundtrack ideas are very cool - I like that sort of thing. Also, would potential swag inclusions be viable for some tiers? I'm thinking specifically about shirts, hats, mouse pads, buttons, patches, etc, either in an already-exisitng, whitebread variety and/or limited edition forms for different tiers. Or how about forum badges/some other aesthetic, in-game or on-forum reward signifying support that other users/players could see? This could be as simple as small forum badges, name borders, or some visible in-game effect. Perhaps hard-copies of art (posters of wallpapers or framed concept art, for example) could be printed and shipped.

Another tier route that I wonder about (though I don't know how possible it would be) would be to involve other games Chucklefish has published - Wanderlust, TAW, and the upcoming Stardew Valley. I'm not sure what that would look like, or what kinds of negotiations would need to be had for that sort of thing, but it seems like it could possibly be beneficial to multiple parties if a good deal could be struck.

This is just spitballing, if that wasn't obvious enough, and forgive me if I'm repeating suggestions I haven't gotten to yet down the list - wanted to strike while the iron was hot, if you will, and I don't have loads of time.

Also, will other platforms be involved, such as Desura? They tend to get quite a bit of prepurchase/beta traffic there.

 

Please do this, I'm so excited for this game and would love a beta.

 

Maybe it's because I got burned by so many (so, so many) pre-order games that simply didn't deliver (like topia online. My greatest disappointment to date), I'd rather wait until reviews are out about the game before buying it. I've spent way too much money on games that are unsatisfactory to me, I'd rather be cautious every single time rather than going all in before the horses are even out of the stable. Though I really like the fact that you are not doing alpha releases; they burn me the most, as the slow development on a lot of "alpha" games leave me with a useless hunk of $30 nothingness that never really became anything. Like topia online. Seriously, the burn. It burns so bad.

I would pre order the game.
Only thing is that i prefer an actual date (even if it's for december) and if you have it before great.
For the extras those are cool and maybe having a planet named, or a race can be too.
BMT Micro is used by towns and works good. I'm ok as long as i can pay through paypal.

Yeah preordering sounds great, would definitely put my dollars towards that.

 

It would be really nice to have an option when pre-ordering to donate a little cash to your favourite team member so I could send an extra $20 to Bartwe, just because he's a nice guy on Twitter and also because of his live streams.

Pre-order is actually a pretty brilliant idea, I think I'll be pre-ordering this very soon, just to assure it's release and make me more confident on the game! I would love to give the developers my money so they can improve the game, instead of holding on a budget, they can expand it even more, and release a fantastic start to the came, thus giving it incredible reputation for it's players!
