I would honestly rather the preorder be done through steam.

actually... my brother doesnt really care about this game, he cares more about Stardew Valley, but calls it StarDOOM, for some odd reason, but I think its because he got bored with Terraria FAST, so he may not have hope in this game..... :(

I've mostly don't pre-order games, but this case is different. Can't wait for put my hands on this game. My money is ready :)

PS: I'm also ready for pre-order Stardew Valley :)

I would like to see tiered rewards based upon multi-unit packs.

Each pre-ordered copy gets a soundtrack.
Each pre-ordered 4-pack gets to name a star system, and gets the coordinates to their named system. (as well as 4 copies of the soundtrack)

I would 100% get pre order, possibly multiple copies (for my brothers and friends to force them to play with me)
The idea of a tier system is cool, not necessary but cool nonetheless.
I would love to get the soundtrack + an art book (PDF format?) even if I have to wait until the game is finished!
2013 is definitely a bit too vague, but as long as I can play beta sooner than later I will be happy.

Sounds fantastic Tiy! I'd pre-order in a heartbeat.

Some ideas for extras that I like. Art book, Sountrack, Stickers/decals, shirt/hoodie, or perhaps affecting the in-game content in some small way.
Whatever is decided, I'm sure the community will support chucklefish 100%!
The 2013 timeframe is not too large at all, DO NOT RUSH IT.... please :3

    1) yes a pre-order would be most welcome. Of course, the price of the game is still unknown ;).
    2) Payment would probably be best through Paypal for myself (no, perfect would be Ideal, but thats a dutch only thing I believe).
    3) I don't care much for the so-called extra tier items since those are often not used after the start. Personally I'd prefer additional skins. Something that shows everyone "LOOK AT WHAT I HAVE HERPADERPDERP"
    4) A 2013 timeframe is good enough for me. I would prefer you guys take your time and release a proper game and not release it too early and make it a shoddy, bugged game.

I think this would be absolutely awesome! I would think that humble would be a great way to start selling you game and of course steam but what ever you use make sure it can be bought with paypal! and what ever you do please don't be like minecraft and let the 'beta' be playable WAY before the release of the game!

I would love to pre-order as mentioned above. Anything that can help support the devs and Starbound are A-OK with me. And as far as extras, I would like the soundtrack and some art-work for Starbound.

    - There are lots of payment services we could make use of... Which would you prefer?
    Definitely Humble Store.

    - Is the 2013 timeframe too large?
Naah. It is what it is. I'd much rather have a solid game in December than a rushed-out release in July.

I think this is a great notion, and I fully support it. As long as I can use a credit card to make the purchase and attach it Steam later I would be a pretty happy camper. All that I ask is that there is an option to buy multiple copies at once. Not for the purpose of a discount, I simply plan on purchasing 8-10 copies to hand out among my clan mates, and it would be great if I didn't have to do it one at a time.

I know you have said before that you don't like the idea of receiving payment for "nothing", but I can assure you that the chance to help the development of Starbound along is a reward all on its own. I look forward to doing my part, such as it is.
