My biggest fear is the game not releasing in summer.

I love the concept and cant wait to get my little planet base into action. Its going to be so cool

Biggest fear? Well, perhaps that the dev team is trying to do too much at once? They're stuffing so much into the game that it's possible that nothing will be really all that great. So far, that fear seems ungrounded, though.

A bigger fear for me is that the beta starts before I get to preorder. What if the beta comes out this night? My last exams are still waiting and I'm not going to go and ask for stuff before the results are in. But I really want to preorder. Gah!

 

Beta won't be out for awhile yet. August is pushing it quite hard for beta. Release will probably be Christmas. That's if they want to keep to their estimate of 2013. But... Estimates are estimates.

My fear would probably be that Starbound doesn't have enough to do. I'm planning on spending a year playing Starbound if not more.
My second fear would be that server hosting would be a complete flop and people would go the Terraria route and go on private servers with friends only.

 

My biggest fear, is that someone or something, will hit that huge ass Pipeline i'm making to Spike's Planet... Need somewhere to dump all this Pee we've gathered up over the years... And noone will notice if we add a little Liquid to a planet made of Water

On-topic: My biggest fear, is that an Ice Age, will break out before Beta is released!

 

Does this game have handymen? Otherwise this won't be a problem.

 

My main fear is that the exploration aspect will get stale after a while. Sure we have millions of different planets to explore, but how many of them will actually be noticeably unique from another? Still, the environments thus far seem pretty diverse so I'm sure they'll be plenty to do and see.

 

One of my biggest fears is that this game is going to be completely reliant on a wiki for figuring it out. Minecraft was the biggest offender of that, but eventually so was Terraria after I got crushed by various bosses. I just hope the game is intuitive enough and/or includes hints so that I don't have to look up too much.

 

That it doesn't come out before I die.

 

Man this thread has me hella scared now My greatest fear would be if things weren't as unique as the devs claim it to be, like maybe there was only a few types of planets. Or if all the random weapons just sucked compared to the tiered ones and they aren't different enough from each other. The monster training ends up weird, clunky, and rushed.

 

Bear's with capes, if this game has bears with capes I will freak the hell out.

 

Disney, Spiders, Fungal Zombies, Children, Crowded Space, Dark Caves, Clowns and Aubergines. Does this game have any of these? Otherwise I'm good

 

I'm afraid that there will be no actual variety in equipment for different situations.

This means that once I get one epic suit of armor, I'll never need to switch them.

I just hope it runs on my computer. It probably will run, but still.
