Your Beta Plans?

Yes, forever, and everything! I will, i want, i do! Thats some crazy cranial outburst of " something is going to be good, folks ". It's like standing on top of a pile of dead clowns, and you realize: Finally they won't be able to hurt me anymore!

I won't be playing the beta, no. I'm going to LIVE IT!

Every stage, actually i am in stage 0.5 right now. It's in my MIND!

Every update that deletes my character or world, results in me creating another character of a different species. So... probably i will play every race.

2) All stages, Plan to hop in at stage one and BREAK ALL THE THINGS... I mean help improve the game.
3) I will be playing some incarnation of my character Link, though I do plan to use the most all the races to test them out and of course to more thoroughly check the game. I plan on my current main full game character to be a green (surprise surprise) Avian, but who knows maybe the Hyloti or Apex will win me over.

I'll be playing an avian from the very start. Lost characters/worlds/progress is just a beta thing in general.

Looking forward to seeing what kind of automation I can get going with devices in game. I was a big fan of tekkit/ftb in minecraft and hoping to eventually design similar setups in game in starbound.

2) Depends when they come out. End of year exams and essays are looming down on me hard and I won't be free until November 23. If it comes out before that, I'm just gonna have to wait. I'll join as early as I can, though!

3) Nope. I like to try out lots of different things, so I'll probably start out with a race I don't love but am interested in - the Avians or Hylotl, most likely.

2) all of them..i wanna help the devs out. even if it is just a little.
3) i will be sticking to my race but not the character, i know the first stage is flimsy so i won't get toooo attached to my character but instead i will make a family tree sort of deal. when a character gets wiped i'll just use the same lineage and make a whole complicated diagram! changing the character a bit very slowly and stuff(genetics). start with a red flowered floran but by the end of it i might end up with a blue flowered floran just because of the system i'll be using.

2) Yes, I'll play through all the stages. I don't mind finding bugs or losing data as long as I get to experiment with everything.
3) I don't really have a specific race to play with. I'll try to get a taste from them all.

 

1. Yep. Pre-ordered with the intent of playing the beta, not going to back down now.

2. All stages. I won't be actively looking for bugs, but if I find them, I'll not hesitate to report them.

3. I like what someone said earlier, every time a character save is broken switching to a new race. That way I can try them all! But on full release, I'm going to go with the Novakid.

 

I'm going to play beta. My main goal is to play the game as intended. If anything is unenjoyable I report it, for example if certain required items for progress take too long to grind for or certain enemies/enemy abilities are overly aggravating to go against. If certain items to go up a tech tree are too hard or too easy to find I'll report it.

This is basically what I did with Minecraft during beta. Initially on the first survival mode releases the only way to get light the first night in Minecraft at the time was to start digging and hope you get lucky and find coal. More often than not you had to make a cubby-hole and hide until daylight first night. A few patches after lots of people said the same thing tree saplings were added and tree blocks could be cooked into charcoal. This is the type of cycle I hope to see in Starbound, find a problem and the dev team makes a solution that is fair.

1) If you also include Testing then yup, (Majority of people that will be on stage one will probably just be there for the fact they can actually play and not actually to help out)
2) I don't know about this one, I want to experience Starbounds story when the time comes, So i'l probably be messing around, ignoring all story elements until v1.0 and concentrate on finding weird ass bugs before that.
3) Part of the task, Every race, each gender, finding animations unique to each race that freak out using certain items or in certain situations is very rewarding sometimes (although if judging the commitment and forethought of our Dev's there probably wont be much of these left )

I actually test games for a living (When it permits. . . Been lacking of late.) so I'll be playing in stage 1, Just because I'm naturally good at finding hard to find bugs and instantly recognizing a pattern in them to be able to reproduce them for adequate reports.

I'll probably either go Floran or Hylotl. I prefer how Floran look but I'm a big Asia nut, And love their culture.. I may go a Floran adopted by Hylotl culture. ;D
