You said no rollbacks anymore but you lied to us

Im very angry about all those rollbacks.

I buyd a Server after if read you wont rollback anymore but still you did to my ship.

I wanted to start this Game after you Guys finish to rollback. Now my Ship was full with stuff (about 15 chests) and now you wiped my ship? for an update? Why you Guys don't warn us before? so we can put the hard getting Items in Inventory?

They never said there would be no more wipes, they said there would be no more CHARACTER wipes. Not only that, but there is one final complete wipe still coming before they can reduce the amount of wipes.In other words expect more down the road.

Maybe it's time for you to wait until the beta moves onto Stage 2.

 

A ) This is early beta, you are literally one of a horde of well wishing testers doing this because we want to help make this game great instead of Chucklefish having to beta test internally in a fashion that takes far, far longer and will never catch everything like we can and will never have our input in how we would like the game to play....and how we are playing it.

B ) They did warn you. Explicitly. They said they were working on a new framework that would allow them to make changes without wiping any more characters beyond the wipe needed to implement it. Guess what just happened?

They did say that there would and could still be wipes with future updates, on the Starbound Launcher page it also states in red text that during Beta you can expect sort of things such as this.

As for servers, assuming you got one from the officially supported server website, this message can be found on info:
"Please note: Starbound is in early beta. Bugs, crashes and character/world wipes are expected!"

Now they do say they keep server backups, but I assume this is only when the current release is stable.

You'll either have to start over again, or wait until stage 2/3 beta when things are more stable.

this patch wiped my hundreds of ingots and itens on my ship? wiped the whole character?

You shouldnt play the game right now if you think this is bad... just deal with it...

 

my problem is that they arent warn us about a new patch, it would be nice if we know it 2 days or 3 days before so we can handle it better.

i would like to save some materials on my character...

Make a backup of your player folder (compress or archive it and move it to somewhere not in your starbound folder) and if you really want to play those characters again just extract it back into your starbound/player folder - you won't get the full experience of beta /testing/ though.

 

I imagine you can transfer your stuff in this case before you update the game.

 

I've noticed the patch notes always get posted to Reddit first before they hit the sites main page or our forum. While I do agree that a little notice ahead of time would have been cool, and I do find it odd that no fore warning was given, things like this happen and in all honestly you should seriously try to not get too attached to anything you have during this stage. And if you lose something take it in stride because everyone lost something not just you, making a negative rant thread doesn't help the situation or make anyone feel better, just starts a flame war.

We saw it coming - it's been a pattern. Just don't get too attached to your stuff. We spent a few hours searching for a chef spawner for my fiancee and finally found one. Yesterday, lol. Oh well - we knew it was temporary and kept saying to each other 'the next wipe is going to suck! lol' because we had built up so much stuff.

 

They didn't say there wouldn't be any more rollbacks -facepalm-

It's amazing and also just sad how many people bought this game apparently clueless as to WHAT they actually purchased.

 

Rollback != wipe.
