Hah, but do they not see? It doesn't matter what goes on, science is always winning, because of the UNIVERSE ITSELF being science
And other races probably are doing science, if they exist

We are all monsters? Eh, I've been called worse.

Besides, what's more important? The livelihood and existence of a character fully under my control, or the pixels that I know are somewhere on that planet?

Might be about math, but just substitute science and it's the same general idea.

Impossible is only a word used to describe that which we have not yet figured out how to do.

  7. oh flux, the disappointment you must feel when skynet invades

that disappointment and denial just before your skull is cracked wide open

Actually impossible has two meanings. The one you stated and the fact that we can't fly on our own without the help of constructs

Genetic tampering or cybernetic enhancement could rule even that obsolete.

Sufficient advancement in the correct field can make even the laws of the universe take a hike. The idea of FTL travel in and of itself is this, or at least an example of bending them to near the breaking point.

Is it possible to swim in land? Can you travel in space without a ship or suit?

It's nice to be a idealist and think those things are possible but it's not.

    Again, you disregard physics.
Genetics could make us use wings, but they'd be useless

The point is "impossible" is a time limited concept, and can only exist in finite terms. Given enough time and effort, or perhaps just the right shade of brilliance, nothing is impossible.

    You provide no proof.

I understand the hurdles of this, but that does not mean they cannot be overcome.

You are, in essence, the science version of the second guy in that picture.

I must remind you of something
The wings would have to be rather large to support our weight
The wings would then crush us under their weight.

And of course, your detrimental attitude does not help

given enough time and ingenuity...yes...both those things are "possible"

The term "impossible" was coined for a reason. I would like to see a video of you flying with the birds please.

    Sure.
