Yet another too similar game to Starbound....

ugh one of THESE threads again and it doesn't even have the decency to be really true or well written.....

Looks like FTL and not starbound...

 

Seems that it goes a bit more into the FTL type, not Starbound.

 

there are an infinite amount of ideas.
but only a limited number of practical ones.

some are common sense to use
and if we cant use them then we cant improve ontop of them

if things like rounded corners are patented then how are we supposed to prevent the corners stabbing us?
we would have to come up with more and more ridiculous solutions, each time making it more impracticle to use or sell.

lucky no one has patented base ten numbers yet.

wut? did you even watch the trailer yourself? This has about as much to do with starbound as Age of Empires has to do with Minecraft

Probably not what the OP intended, but thanks for sharing. This game looks great! I was craving FTL for Android but this game looks like it will fulfill that craving for me.

That game is pretty awesome actually! I will play that game and Starbound at the same time. I obviously favor starbound, but with time my mind could change.

 

They are trademarked, not copyrighted.

Basically a trademark belongs to a company and only they can decide what products have that name. I agree with the concept, however I disagree with simple words being used for trademarks. Unless the word was made up by the person who wants to claim said trademark.

OT: OP is over exaggerating things...

 

It doesn't look a bit like Starbound, apart from the fact it's another sprited game, that's all. The sprites may look a tad similar in relation but not in my opinion. I disagree heavily to the OP and it's poster.

 

And it has been around for quite some time. It's actually older than Starbound.

 

seeing the game titled "star command" made me think more of buzz lightyear much more then starbound, anyone else?

honestly the game doesn't look like i would play it, but to anyone else who is anticipating it: hope you enjoy it whenever it hits

 

It doesn't look that great to be honest, and I don't want to criticise too much and offend them in some form of way. I could spend a few minutes playing it but I'd imagine it might get a bit boring.

I am still concerned as to why the OP would think it was similar to Starbound, there is only one minor relation.

 

Monopolization of ideas kind of flies in the face of a free market.
Though Digital Rights Management (Copyright) isn't entirely without merit; it's a nasty subject matter where the only practical solution is near or at the middle ground.
But I'm not going to elaborate any further on that in this topic, or any other, since it's been done to DEATH elsewhere on the net.

 

Well, it's on the IOS, so it doesn't worry me too much.

 

this isn't even like starbound, and not close to ftl either.
