YAY!

So i just beat the ufo for the first time and finally got off a planet

I then went to a moon nearby and died ((*OMG PLS NERF COLD GAWD*)) <--JK

but yeah i beat the ship and went to the moon and realized i need some warm clothes
i have killed tons of creatures with my bow and my sword to no avail no leather

Is it a certain mob the wiki said just kill creature with bow and yeah
So any input on what biome or such to get ti from would be helpful

No special biome, just kill things with a bow or the hunting knife. They should drop leather from time to time, but you'll have tons of meat before you're done. I didn't do this after the latest patch, though, so something might've changed.

 

Pretty much just kill everything with your bow, it has a low chance of dropping and you need about 38 of them for full warm clothing

 

It sounds like just rotten luck. If use the bow, every once in a while they will drop leather, which can be used in a yarn spinner to make snow infantry armour (aka warm clothes). For the meantime, just use campfires.

 

Yeah my luck tonight is rotten i swear man ive killed 600+ mobs with the bow and gotten 2 leather from all that

 

You just kill any common enemy with the hunting weapons and it'll have a chance at dropping leather, that's all there really is to it. Also as a head's up, you could've left the planet at any time, killing the boss just enables you to go to the next sector as well as build steel items.
As a bit of warning though, don't bother with the Snow Infantry armor, it provides less defense than basic clothing does. Instead just carry around a campfire and drop It when you're cold.

 

Thanks i was aware i didnt have to kill it i take entirely too long on planets my sense of wonder and all but this time i was like man i should at least try to kill it

 

Not true, it's better than copper. (Haven't checked if it's better than racial armour though...)

Checked the armor value before I posted. The hotfix nerfed the armor down from better than copper to weaker than clothing.

 

Well i was hoping to get some snow armor for exploring cold planets and not having to worry as much
not so much for armor as im quite good at dodging (Monster Hunter mad skills) lol but
yeah not so much for armor as it is for cold protection but does it protect from cold enough for it to matter?
