you should add the Evangelion and give it a Positron Sniper Rifle and the Super-Electromagnetic Crossbow MM-144 too and try putting the others evangelion unit 1-6 of them on the mod or you can create the mod for starbound and ya you should add others anime mecha like gundam wing,Gurren Lagann,code geass. an other one too, it well be ansome if you do that. ty for reading this.
Fantastically done. Very clean. Very skillful. With the addition of the theta and the rho though, the sigma and the sigma elite are a bit underpowered. I'm not sure how you feel about suggestions, but I was just thinking about how awesome it would be to comb the dreary depths of the ocean floor with one of the two. They both put me in mind of sub-aquatic diving contraptions. I'm using another mod to add deep ocean worlds which are my favorite of any planet biome. Perhaps you could add forward directed lights like the flashlight to the mechs to see in the depths? Also perhaps an independent oxygen supply for the mechs? Just some ideas. In any case, thanks for an excellent new dynamic to the game. Edit: Or it occurs to me, if you have the time or inclination, to create a specially designed underwater mech. Though you would need mods to make use of its fully effectiveness, it would still be interesting. With full aquatic maneuverability and such.
They were I think, though the elite is pretty effective all round. The theta and rho are just too large for my tastes.
I absolutley love the mod and everytime when I think, well wow the creator of this magnificent piece of art has nailed it this time, there pops up another even more awesome mech. So since that has been clarified I want to ask something. Is it possible to improve the defense of a player while beeing in a mech, since I'm kind of annoyed by the fact that Florans with poop guns are shooting me out of the theta mech. Dont get me wrong, it should be possible to kill the player in a mech, but it should be considerably harder. Just my 2 cent.
You've made an excellent point (several actually), which I've been noticing as well, that the Sigmas are a little outshined by the newer mechs. Not that I'm against some mechs simply being better than others, but I do want every mech to be feature-rich. As such I've been meaning to revisit them for a while, I'm considering adding features like maybe a mining drill and/or somewhat improved mobility options. They are, after all, meant to be all-purpose exploration mechs. As far as damage output, I am overall satisfied with where they're at right now, fitting with their smaller size and exploration/utility role they should not have over the top damage. As far as mechs providing oxygen supply (and armor, as QShadow mentioned just now), these are things I very very much want to implement. The problem is that right now, the Starbound engine simply does not allow techs to apply status effects like "protection" (armor) and oxygen. Hopefully with the next SB update, the engine will be expanded to allow those options and I will be quick to implement them. Finally, directional headlights are also a feature I've wanted to add since I started this mod. I've been looking into it but so far have not had much success. I can simulate a point-light (all directions) but not directional yet. Again, hopefully with an engine update, all these awesome ideas can become reality. If and when ocean planets become integrated into the game, I think a dedicated underwater exploration vehicle would also be very cool! In the meantime, would you be able to link me to the underwater planet mod you are using? I haven't had much opportunity to test these mechs underwater because there are no ocean planets yet in the base game.
You do realize where the XS mechs are coming from? what you are asking does not fit this mod. The amount of work this guy does to make the mechs is a lot, asking him to do more is crazy, go bug the rest of th modding community.
I do appreciate every suggestion though, even if the source material isn't really in line with the theme of this mod, mecha have been one of many important sources of inspiration. So everyone, thanks for sharing!

For open water planets, there's the standard ocean which has sandy islands and such and then there the deep ocean planets which have no landmasses. I haven't found any of the deep oceans outside of sector X.
Its a good mod with good assets but what annoys me is that its all rubium tier stuff bar the Sigma Kinda wish there was mechs for lower tier mats
Your right in a way but I might have a way around that I'm not sure it will work since I'm thinking on scale but what if you added in something like a back item that activates when mechs active Though this is little harder then implementing into tech but make it so this back item can be activated like a bio suit or make like armor because people in these machines aren't just going to be wearing nothing in front of glass this can fill your problem but it would require more items this is just a thought you know because in these mining areas the glass could break but if have a suit they would wear like a helmet or something for air the armor for the cold and poison of worlds but the armor would have flaws like anything would if you make to op it could cause problems but all terrain so I guess keeps insulated from the heat of lava but make it more tech orientated I guess so that people not taking poison and lava baths and just using the mod for god armor or maybe code it so that it's like a timer maybe find a way to make a timer how long can stay in lava so they not just jumping into lava wearing suit thinking they can get away for long and maybe link so depending tech the timer is longer then if not using These are just ideas I'm trying out it's up to you in the end to decide I mean we are talking a game here.
As or lights the flash light uses your arm maybe finding like some way to in corporate that into the mech might work but that is even crazier then other idea.
Multi-lock missiles, ground-sliding hover propulsion and a shield of some kind are all things I'd like to see in future mechs.
Anyone noticed yet the alt link v1.0.3 is really 1.0.2? Or at least that's what the info file says and that's causing SB to barf on it when it loads. Checked Nexusmods... same problem.
Starbound just updated to v. Enraged Koala, so this mod will show up as incompatible. You can fix this by editing the xs_mech.modinfo file with a text editor, change where it says "v. Furious Koala" to "v. Enraged Koala" I'm in the process of a real update, hopefully will go live soon(TM).
