Well the armour rating display is bugged ATM but it works, it just doesn't display the value properly.

 

Actually I think I figured it out. It's not that it's bugged its showing you what your current armor Lv is. Like the avg of my Armor right now is 12 I have 2 lvl 15 armors and a 5? which rounded up is 12 (its actually 11.66666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666667) yeah you get the point.

 

If your armor lvl is lower then the world your in then you can expect to take greater dmg. If its greater then expect less. Also for your weapons Look more towards the Penetration rate then the Dmg. The more it penetrates the better the weapon will be against higher lvl'd stuff.

Which is a bit weird because I thought DMG is more important that the penetration.

Apparently I'm met with a bug instantly. The game just doesn't open.

 

I see all this trouble. Hmm...
But on my end, I have no trouble. Except for a bug that crashes the game when you press Ctrl Alt Delete in full screen.

 

still no reply from CF i'm thinking that if i haven't got a response by the end of today ill just buy another copy :/

I'm thinking that i'm only going to buy games directly through steam now since although humble bundle is nice i don't want to have to deal with something like this ever again

 

I expected bugs, but I didn't think I'd be so unlucky as to be unable to run the game at all. So sad. I hope they can fix it fast.

 

Looks like they've uploaded some 500mb patch, that's at least what the reddit/forum says.
Hopefully that's going to fix some things along with steam overlay disable etc.

 

I'm having the same problem. I did manage to run it three or four times, but now it instantly crashes whenever I try.
Are you on OSX or windows XP, perchance?
Also, hello everyone.

 

Windows 7. It doesn't even crash. It just doesn't open at all. Steam says I'm playing for a brief second... but it goes away. And no crash log file is created. >.<

 

I got it working... one time.... then I tabbed out stupidly.... and now it won't open! ;_;

 

Hm. I'm getting the same thing on OSX though i do get a (not terribly helpful) crash log. It shows up for about a second or so and then crashes without opening the game window. Ah, the joys of beta. >.<

Well. Sort of. All of my Starbound-ing for the past day or so have consisted of trying to find ways to make the game stay open for more than two seconds. xD
Just out of curiosity, what are everyone's favorite ship designs? I'm rather partial to the Hylotl ship myself.

 

yeah i really like the hylotl in genera its between those and the avians for me i guess

 

I got it to open after 2394092709 tries! Was able to play for an hour! Now I probably have to do the same thing next time I play...
