Would you want the Apex removed?

The Apex are one of the best races, at least in terms of entertainment value.

The Hylotl are most disgusting race, but I wouldn't want the gross Hylotl removed either.

This will all be settled in semi-racist genocidal PvP wars anyway.

 

I voted yes but I suppose I should have voted no. Heres why:

The Apex aren't a bad idea, not really (although the backstory irks me to no end). I do hate the look of them, I hate their backstory and I hate that they are supposedly the intellectuals of this game. That irritates me, the race irritates the crap out of me, they're ugly as all hell and there is only one redeeming quality for them in my mind. That quality being that I can kill them.

I am going to kill, every, single, Apex, I come across, regardless if they're a quest giver, escort, or isolated player (nothing personal, you just made a bad race choice). I don't care, I am going to just kill them, this would be satisfying for me, because I dislike them. I do recognize that a fairly sizeable portion of the fanbase (for some reason that just completely eludes me) like the Apex and enjoy the idea of playing as a hideous as hell Old World ape man. Since there is so much love for the Apex (again, for some reason that just makes no sense to me, don't try to explain it to me either, its due to a matter of preference and I just don't see the benefits that they see) it would be, I suppose, unfair, to remove the Apex.

So really my answer is a mix of yes and no, I want them removed because I really detest them, but I don't want them removed because they'd just be replaced with some other god awful race that could be potentially worse than they are. I suppose I'd be happy if they just modified the concept a bit, leave them as apes but change their backstory and knock them off the scientific pedestal.

 

I'm not asking for anything, I quite like the Apex, as I've said, they're my favorite race. It was just a question, I was interested in finding out.

 

I, too, want Apex death camps, but without Apex the only other people left that would work are Glitches. But being a Glitch, they'd only be my serfs, not really slaves or prisoners.

Planet of the Apes really scarred me towards upright apes... I gotta get them before they get me, ya know?

 

Keep in mind that you're an Ape as well. Maybe "why not damn, dirty non-Human Apes?" would be a better phrase.

 

I'll have you know I plan to play a Novakid, meat-bag.

 

I wanna dismantle a load of glitch and integrate them into my terminals and what not, so they will have a use as slightly more intelligent calculators in my base.

 

Considering that the first char I have planned is going to be an Apex, no, I most certainly don't want them removed ^_^

 

There's no downside to keeping them in the game AND there would be many problems with removing them.

-Apex are part of the lore ;
-People would be mad ;
-They are already implemented and would require time to remove (delaying the game ).

The one downside is that I'd occasionally run into them and be disgusted by their weird faces and hand feet.

the Apex is not my preferred race and they will probably be the last race I'd try out but I would not want to see them completely removed from the game there just not my cup of tea but I believe they have a good place in Starbound

 

The Apex are an awesome race and I'm glad they're in the game. I just dislike them on a personal level : )

I'm sure I'll have some friends play Apex, and I'll meet tons of nice people that are Apex...NPC Apex just need to be careful.

Just because some of us make fun of the avians and the apexes don't make them wrong, I am playing one of each, regardless.

 

Personally I don't like the Apex, not that I have any hate for monkeys in real life, but they intrude my universal imagination. I guess the real reason for that is because I would think that the monkeys would look different if they evolved intellectually when compared to humans.

I don't want them removed from the game because the developers have used a considerable large amount of time to implement this race into the game. It would be a shame to waste that effort.

Either way the race is fine, it doesn't disturb me too much. In the way I think, the more races there are in the game, the more enjoyable the game will be. Because there would be more variety, and variety is always good.

 

Eh, I don't mind the Apex. Even if they aren't my favorite race, I still don't want to see them removed from the game, with the sole reason of the devs putting so much effort to them, as with all the other races.

 

There is no point in removing them. They are a player race and choice is good. Choice is always good. The only time I would see devs doing something about a race is if they had a few thousand people playing the game and barely 100 users used the race. Then they might do a 'racial overhaul' and try to spruce the race up somehow.

 

What? I'm an engineering student. I just love using the phrase "damn dirty apes."
