Would you want the Apex removed?

I won't play as an apex, but I like that they are monkeys. The only race I would want out would be florans to make room for a better race

 

Just because I may not like the apex as much as the other races doesn't mean they don't have a special, simian place in my heart

Also, without them, my fascist regime will just seem out of place

 

I may have bad-mouthed the apex in the past, but I wouldn't want them removed, no way, they're a part of the universe! Also I wouldn't mind hanging out with some. Yeah they're my least favourite race, but that doesn't mean they're bad!

 

Apex just rock. The reason why people hate them is because they look like real-life humans.

They are ugly, and too similar to humans. That's my motivation for disliking them. Would I want them removed? no. What else would my floran eat?

Apex fill the role of the butt-monkey race. They should stay.

 

I don't really intend to play as a apex but as stated before they belong in starbound. Also one of the things I love about the apex is the kind of culture that has grown up around them people who want to play as apex are very vocal in defense or bragging about them and I absolutely love that. on a side note however i think the apex do kinda have something like death camps in the lore that we do have on them they have a tenancy to abduct apex for experimentation generally the poor but also anyone who criticizes the system. the lore says that these people who are abducted are never heard from again, in my mind that kind of makes a death camp parallel and the places they take these apex for experimentation is probably what the apex dungeons are.

 

Voted "yes", because personally yeah, I do want them to be removed. Of course I know that nobody will remove them from the game.

This race has no qualities I find interesting.
Humans — great to play as "myself", good for xenophobic people. Will definitely create one, perhaps even as a main character.
Avians — cute feathered diapsids, don't like their religiousness, but can play as an atheist one (probably won't, my last choice before Apex). People do love birds, they are tasty.
Florans — awesome counterintuitive race of cute vegetables with totally orcish mentality. Yeah, they are barbaric and mostly evil, and I just love the fact that they looks like salad and flowers.
Hylotl — not excited about them at all, probably because we still don't know anything about them besides "asian". Right now my second to last choice, before Avians, but this can change.
Glitch — very interesting idea for a race of robots, and they do have cool fashion sense.
Novakid — sure, why not, they look hot.

Apex — they are too similar to humans and concept of "de-evolving physically to evolve mentally" makes zero sense, especially considering that non-human great apes tend to be more fit physically than homo sapiens. Also, the fact that they are basically another species of the hominidae family makes them less interesting by default. We already have humans, why another great ape? I just can't make myself to suspend the disbelief in regards to this race. My last choice.

In my opinion, Starbound without Apex won't lose anything at all.

 

Nope. I don't like apes and won't play them, but they seem good addition to the game. + They're the ones with futuristic armors and weapons.

 

Guys, they're super intelligent monkey Nazis, and that's awesome. And I'm going to wage a war of genocide on every colony I find.

I don't hate the Apex. I'm not going to be playing as one, by that doesn't mean I think they should be removed from the game entirely.

Thing is, it you don't like a race, just don't play as it. Leave the people who do like it alone.

 

Even if it will probably be quite a while before I make an Apex character I have no quarrels about the race being in the game.

Come on man, Apex may be unpopular to play as, but they still play an important part in Starbound lore.

 

..Does it really matter? it's just an ape race...why hate on an ape race if it doesn't really change anything about the game if it's there?. That's like hating on dwarfs in WOW or any MMoO. it makes no sense.

 

Removing such a big thing for not liking it is pure fanboy-ism. "screw the apex floran master race!". I mean comon, even disregarding all their sweet furniture and tech would go away along with them, they are part of the lore and of the game as we know it, and even if not the more the merrier. This is beyond silly.
