Would you rather. {Holidays}-{Poll}

In most games during a holiday in real life it also happens in the game. Would you guys want to have holidays in Starbound such as Easter, Christmas, Halloween. Ect.

Voting no, but not because I care about aliens having holidays. I just get so inundated with holiday stuff everywhere else, I don't really need it in my video games.

 

Meh. As long a holiday or two of all religions/ethic groups are represented.

 

I think its a wonderful idea, It's been used in many games and sometimes even brings the user count up during those time massively its beneficial in all areas, even could throw holiday quests in to win some vanity items ?

 

As a non-Christian living in a Christian country I get really sick of being constantly bombarded by all this Christian holiday crap. So no, I don't want holidays.

 

Perhaps not the holidays we are used to as well. Like in certain times of the year, say... the apex celebrate big ape's birth or something. Holidays that the other races would celebrate. Humans would have normal holidays, but the aliens should have different holidays too.

 

i was just thinking that! like, there could be some Avian Holiday like "kluex-day" or"uadija" or something.

 

If we're going to do IRL holidays, I'd stick to secular ones like Halloween, 4th of July, NYE, and the Santa/reindeer consumerist flavor of Christmas (as opposed to the nativity scene flavor).

 

voted meh as in holidays are depressing as is but if the holiday's mirrored the aliens own lore then i wouldnt have a problem.

 

I reckon the standard Christmas, Easter, Halloween holidays would be nice Maybe Thanksgiving or things like that.
And those are the most likely options. Not because the developers are trying to scrutinize against different religions or ethnic groups; but because they are the most mainstream and most followed.

 

You act as if Christmas is still a thing about religion these days. It doesn't matter if you're religious or not, Christmas has long since become a holiday that is mainly commercialized, so to complain about the religious aspect of holidays that aren't about religion most of the time any more is rather silly.

It's just a holiday where you can get some neat little trinkets in games that end up doing it. Winter themed items and all that good stuff.

That reply makes no sense.. lol That was the most accurate response someone could give to how the holidays really are now a days.. You dont really see too many people celebrating the religious aspect of things anymore which is fine. I dont see why your so uptight about it being a bad thing.

 

I was making a point that a person that is Christians are constantly bitching about how Christmas isn't really religious anymore, and we (non-Christians) should celebrate it like everyone else and be happy about it. Also I live in rural Australia, Christmas here is still more religious than what is depicted in American media (the only other comparison I have access to).

 

Commercialization doesn't change the basis of a celebration.

Easter is still, ostensibly, about the rebirth of christ after his death, and ascent into heaven. Yes, no one celebrates that part of it, but that's still the meaning and if you aren't Christian that can still make you feel excluded when it's brought up constantly.

Same thing with Christmas, except it's about Baby Jesus's 'birthday'.

Yes, but I'd rather it be the races own holiday. It would make no sense for Florans to be celebrating christmas, however humans can. Other races could celebrate something similar, but simply having everyone be christmasy would just be annoying ><

 

I would prefer to say in lore they celibate something like some of ours but not exact.
Just close enough people who want to enjoy it can but those who want not to have real life creeping in to the game aren't bothered.

Edit: Anything but calling it Lifeday though. ANYTHING but that.
