Would you like to see any special things happen in the game depending on what time of the year it is

i think it would be cool to say if it was Christmas it snowed in the game or Halloween and the mobs look different

please tell me what you think

I'd like it if a special NPC appeared on your ship or home planet, anything else might be annoying to people going for immersion. I'd hate to see snow and Christmas trees appear on my dry and airless moon.

 

What if every time there was a holiday, like a special comet appeared, you would have a choice whether or not to go to it, and it would be themed like the holiday. Giving you cool items and blocks and whatnot

 

Would be cool if each race had its own holidays. So on a human planet you'd get christmas, halloween and such, but on a Apex planet you'd get "Glory to Big Ape day" or something.

 

NPC villages have Christmas lights and decorations (assuming there are NPC villages, I dunno if they'll be in-game)

 

How about race specific holidays? How does Floran feast festival sound?

 

It would be cool as long as only certain worlds showed certain effects. For xmas stuff arctic planets would be fine, but like previously stated a barren moon no. The npc village/home planet idea is fine. However the best thing would be to just have holiday themed furniture and stuff available for purchase from npc's and or start randomly dropping off mobs and appearing in chests at a certain time. This way it would be the players choice whether or not to set up a xmas tree in their base/spaceship.

 

If done in a unique way that will effect everyone equally, sure.

If done like Terraria... No.

 

I'd enjoy some fun holiday items to put down on my ship during holidays.
Maybe even things that change their appearance on certain holidays.
I want the 'mouth-sounds' weapons sounds on april fools day.

Like Terraria did for Christmas? you could get Presents from Snowmen and get candy cane blocks! and other cool stuff,

And it would be cool to get One of a Kind things! Like you can only get a (Lets Say) snow globe that can Summon Snowmen to help you fight! But they slowly melt! (Not on Snowy Planets) and if you miss the time of Year to get it, you have to wait till Next year! (They items will appear every year, and every year new items also appear alosng side the Old ones!) so if you miss it, you have t go to servers and find someone to trade for it!

And cool things like Mobs wear Pumpkins on their heads on Halloween (Minecraft Did that!) and maybe you can take the Pumpkins after killing them? and make Jack-O-Lanterns!

 

Or perhaps we can have special planets that could only be created during holidays. That way, we can enjoy it even after the holiday is over.

 

I would be in full support of various racial holidays throughout the year. Though they may not be to everyone's liking, so as long as they were optional (like tied in through side-quests and such) I think it would definitely add a rather special level of charm to the game.

Just for an extra level of clarification I'm not talking about racial exclusivity on these holidays. All the (player) races seem to be working together to some extent so it makes sense for there to be at least some cultural exchange. You don't have to be Human to celebrate a holiday with them and likewise with the other races as well.

Really it could open up some interesting interactions between races trying to work together to survive.

 

It WOULD promote people to play different races. Sure, I like it.

 

Race specific events sounds amazing! Water Globe day for the Hylotls: Celebrate the day on which Sir Kip saved King Toto, Queen Wott, and their son, Squirt from the glass globe prison in which they were imprisoned in after losing the Ocean War of 2045!

 

Increased chances of things happening, sure. Date and time specific? No. All it does it make you piss about with your clock.
Now.. more snow during winter? Perhaps nastier mobs during halloween? Or even more vibrant colours during the Spring? Hell yes. But nothing unique or unobtainable otherwise.

 

depending on the race you had? unlock certain decorations and if you are friends with other races they will share some craftables of their own?

 

Not sure I like race Specific. I don't want fins and tentacle porn on my xmas tree if I play the Hylotl.
