    This would be a good idea although it should take some more work to do this. Basically, a Clothier-like NPC who would have an option to "Create vanity items" and would cost like 100 :in-game currency:.

    SpaceCap'n Zero Gravity Genie

    What there should be, is a base sprite that you color yourself, then the game takes that and creates the other frames for you. It might be a bit buggy, but it would take a lot of work out of the process, thus making it easier for everyone to do themselves.
