Worst waste ever.

I love Starbound. The game is great, I've played it out about 500hours or more, created a server (who's dead now, because of the obvious lack of updates) formed a great community. But I can also tell this game is the worst waste ever.

Back in 2013, the hype about Starbound was real, but then the chaotic alpha release ruin it up.

The community get pissed and started to shit on Chucklefish because of the lack of update. Why the fuck don't they update it like Minecraft? And now, because of that, I bet that the devs just want to release the full version of the game and move on for another game because of the community reaction (who is legit).

I hope Chucklefish could up the hype back. But you know? I don't thinks that going to happen anymore... I just thinks they will give us the 1.0 update at Holyday and that's all.

I don't even complain about they way I spend my money on this game you know, I just complain about the ruination of potential... and I don't want to offense Chucklefish because I respect them as persons. I just talk about the game and it's developement.

 

Wait and see, that's the only thing we can do for now.

 

Go back to playing Terraria in the meantime if you're craving something polished, while we wait patiently.

 

Potential cannot be ruined, but sometimes things don't reach their potential. Has Starbound reached it's potential, No, right now it hasn't, but will it reach it's potential still remains to be seen. The devs are still working on the game and are showing that they are working on the game, so don't count them out yet.

 

I was going to say something about "worst waste" being a good thing, but then you had to go and put that "English isn't my first language" disclaimer

Anyway, your server probably died because it got boring. There's still a lot of servers out there doing just fine. And, this isn't a game like Minecraft. Minecraft is a game like Minecraft. Go play that if you want something that updates like Minecraft.

But yeah, I kinda wish the game would update too.

To the OP: Don't worry. I highly doubt they're going to abandon the game anytime soon. They do listen to the community when they can since people have valuable feedback to share, but I don't doubt that they would still be here plugging away even if they only barely met their preorder goals. The team has said before that they're making the game that they would want to play. Thus, they're the ones that really lose out if they quit halfway.

And yes I know that Starbound still has a lot of development time, I'm merely saying that it's rather possible that the lack of players is due not to his server, but to the lack of players.

Not sure I agree with this. I would rather they not update like Minecraft where the game becomes worse as it's updated until it has a shoddy release with lots of broken promises. Unless you're referring to the release of patches after a different dev took over development post release in which case I have no comment.

 

This is one of the more calm non-constructive posts I've seen. But I'll forever be baffled as to how and why you all have made such an impact in the report log.
