On number 5, you mine un-refined stone for cobblestone. You don't mine cobblestone for cobblestone (though all un-refined stones variations drop cobblestone that is visually the same).

Also, there would have to be something that doesn't make you beam down into say a snow mini-biome (that is relatively large) on a forest planet (it can happen), I've seen some planets that are half regular biome, and half some mini-biome that just doesn't seem like it would make sense having those two biomes together.

My suggestions are for the very first planet you start on, only.

I mean, cmon, Acid Rain when you have no tools, no nothing to protect yourself with? That's a bit ridiculous and unfair to someone just starting their character. I'm not saying to get rid of that stuff on ALL planets, no.

And no Stone = No Pickaxes, No Hoe, No Axe, no Furnace. How are you supposed to get the game started if you have to go a mile to be able to make any tools?

Obviously. When I say "Cobblestone" I mean regular stone, but oddly when you mine it is called "Cobblestone" so I call it "Cobblestone". I'm not talking about the refined bricks you make from stone. I mean the regular stone you need to make the first pickaxe/axe/hoe/furnace.

Ships are not planets, don't be stupid.

Then how can you explain people spawning inside dungeons or inside hills, covered in blocks?

The problem is, new players may not realise they can remove the water that way. It's a good way to get out of the situation but it should be fixed so that you can't beam into an area like the OP pictured.

I beamed onto a planet with a boss in the middle of the beam down spot. This was on a starter planet after the recent ship/planet wipe, so I killed it, but I can imagin a new player getting wrecked without any gear.

He's saying "once a game chooses a spawn point, that's that."

So yes, it CAN beam you inside of dungeons/walls/etc if the game chooses a spawn location there.

IMO, the picture someone posted a bit ago, it looks like world gen goes something like this:

general terrain shape -> adding ore/stone -> choosing spawn location -> adding sub biomes/buildings.

It seems to choose a spawn location before it chooses to place buildings and things like volcanoes. I notice the earlier pic of an inside-the-wall spawn happens to be a surface volcano. The game chose the spawn location and THEN decided it was going to place a volcano there. For the OP, the game chose to place a bridge at that location (the poison underneath the bridge is part of that randomly-generated structure I'd bet).

    Etc.

My floran's starter planet beamed him in the middle of a pit of acide with one of those apex buildings that have a chest at its middle

I've had that structure at the spawn location a couple times, yes.

Again, it seems to be an example of "choose the spawn location and THEN paint the buildings on the map" or at least that's what it looks like. I don't have access to the game's code, but when observing its behavior, that just seems like a logical thing to theorize.

How can you explain people spawning inside dungeons or hills, covered in blocks or liquid? His claim is consistent with what occurs in game - the game chooses a spawn location, and if that location happens to be covered in blocks, or submerged in liquid, or has a sawblade running on it, or whatever, whether those obstacles are placed by worldgen or player-made, it doesn't matter. You still wind up beaming down there, hazards be damned. The spawn generation system does not take the details and particulars of a location into account (although admittedly, it should - a few sanity-checks would go a long way), and once a planet's spawn location is set, that is that. No amount of obstacles will prevent you from beaming into that location.

There's been plenty of proof, screenshot proof, of that in the thread, starting with the OP's post, and continuing through every screenshot posted.

That is what the underground is for. I know what you meant. And I repeat what I have mentioned, it is only a preference obviously, I actually like having what I said as an option. Too much for a starter planet to narrow down and each one will be pretty redundant. It would be the same each time you start. Acid Rain is simple to get away from, easy for me though, just dig or find an overhang, hence me not liking the idea of adding a mountain to that range. Mountains sometimes can provide cover, as some have caves. Cobble will always be somewhere, as I run into that everywhere, especially below the surface.

How I play I usually am on the first planet for a long haul before I decide to leave anyhow. So mining, caving, exploring comes easily to me. Plus I enjoy it, It doesn't take much time to find cobble, even in acid rain. If it constantly rains acid then I guess I'll be a mole for the time being until I am ready to leave. What I am saying even the start needs a bit of randomness to it, otherwise it is the same and wouldn't get me to make another character right away, as it would all seem too similar as the other character.

That is just me though, I guess. Each to their own preference.

You said you couldn't beam down into liquid which you can.

As others have stated, the game doesn't care whats in the way, it beams you down regardless.

    What was your point again?

I said that THE GAME SOMEHOW MISSES BLOCKS. People can beam down into liquid (on screenshots I saw there) when there are blocks above them! In first case - bridge blocks. In second - dungeon roof. Et cetera et cetera. The game DOES CARE what in the way, but it cares BEFORE pregenerated stuff is inserted, thus making you sometimes spawn INSIDE dungeons or, like OP stated, UNDER those bridges.

    CompletelyMissingThePoint (tvtropes).

What Alucard is saying is the same thing I said:

1). The game lays out the terrain.
2). The game inserts ore and liquids.
3). The game chooses the spawn location.
4). The game then starts adding buildings, bridges, volcanoes, etc.

Sometimes in the process of #4, something will be placed ontop of #3.

    Get what we're saying now?

If that IS what is happening, then a simple fix is to make the game choose the spawn *last* and give the game some certain rules that it must follow (can only spawn on dirt/stone, etc).

It's like the stone from Minecraft. In minecraft you don't mine cobblestone either, you mine regular stone that drops cobblestone and not the stone itself.
