Worst Possible Race Ideas?

The meaning never changed, but the interpretation did. Either way, society should know it was around and used long before Hitler decided to use it.

 

Sadly people forget that, in my opinion it should be used more to dilute the nazi taint and bring back the original meaning to the forefront.

 

The Sues. A race of human like aliens with wings, claws, great hair, fangs, great hair, unicorn horns, cool eyes, great hair, cool costumes, cool weapons, godlike powers and unmatched beauty. They created the universe, and every race in Starbound. They are the most powerful beings in the universe. They also have great hair.

 

A race of half digested jazz musicians who have a special ability to sing groovy beats backwards. They lack the ability to jump or walk on toilet water.

Or Space Hobos. Yeah, definitely Space Hobos.

 

Worst race idea? Humans.

 

Cats. They just lay there. Get petting. Eat food. Poop. That's all they do. Their planet is in extreme peace and humans are their slaves.

 

Who's idea was that?

 

Fair enough, but on the list of definitions for it, "symbol of the Nazi party" has definitely supplanted any of the swastika's other meanings as the number one meaning at this point in history.

Why? I mean, really, it's unrealistic to expect everyone to see something and immediately say to themselves "Oh, I wonder what ancient meaning that's probably not applicable or relevant to my everyday life that interesting shape over there is." A symbol's primary meaning is going to be defined by its widest use at any given moment by what the people seeing it recognize it for and associate it with. The use of the swastika by the Nazi party, and its continued use by Neo-Nazi groups that perpetuate the espoused beliefs of the original Nazi-party using the iconography they inherited continue to maintain that link between the symbol and its changed meaning.

If you knew it's true meaning but still associated it with Nazis, that's not realistic, that's just ignorance. Even if it was associated with Nazis, it's meaning doesn't change. Hitler choose it based on it's representation of good fortune, that and the fact it was supposedly used by the Aryans. Like I said, the only reason society would continue to darken such a symbol is because they're too foolish not to because of an even surrounding it.
If I used the peace symbol as my trademark symbol in my army to murder all the other races, apparently it loses it's original meaning?

But zombies are the new black, plus zombies in space is only kinda overused, thus we can still use them some before it gets on everyone's nerves.

To be clear, this thread isn't intended to make fun of the race suggestions. I have a race suggestion in there, myself.

I just think we might come up with really funny ideas. Like little green men who are literally green, meaning inexperienced.

 

That's silly, not only is that contradictory to use a positive symbol for a negative purpose, society should also realize that and continue to believe in the meaning it's had all along. Events should have no dictation on something you know is good, the only thing that was negative and in the wrong was the people who took it and used it for their purposes.

 

At first glace, I left the "hu-" out of "human". That was a laugh.

EDIT: Also, this subject is off-topic, but I think the meaning of symbols changes with the culture, so I have to agree with Mianso. At the same time, it is extremely sad that Hitler ruined swastikas and tiny mustaches and numerous other things that aren't actually bad.
