So, of course I don't know everything, but I have picked up a couple of things from my own experiences playing. I'll just make a small list of things, and you guys can add onto it.

-There is a huge city near Pelican Town (Zuzu city?)
-A war with humans just happened or is still happening (wherever Kent was)
-A war with dwarves + void people happened in ancient times
    -Dwarf technology
    -Ice dungeon/castle in the mines
    -Magic iS A THING

There is just a lot that SDV hints at, but doesn't really flesh out. I'm not complaining about it, of course; the game is very detailed and I'm actually surprised it has so many hints to lore and whatnot to begin with. It's really refreshing.

My question to you is: what do you want to learn more about? Is there anything in SDV that just made you curious, made you want to UNCOVER THE MYSTERY? I know we had a topic about the geography of the valley, but it'd be interesting to discuss the nature vs modernity aspects, and if a town like Pelican Town is common or extremely rare as well.

there is a book that you can find that tells you about the history of the dwarfs. a scientist says in the book that the dwarfs call them self sky people and that the crashed long ago on this planet and that they where those helmets because the atmosfeer is difrent than there home planet

Adding to that list: Elves, Fairies, and Merman. Also the secret of Skull Cave, and about the writting on walls about being cursed by too many iridium and the wizard who cursed them. What is iridium and what is so special about its property?

Edit: Apparently, wikipedia has the answer about iridium. Iridium is a chemical element, aka atomic member 77, found in meteorites with an abundance much higher than its average abundance in Earth's crust. Iridium in Greek is literally means "of rainbows". The high melting point, hardness and corrosion resistance of iridium and its alloys makes iridium an important alloying agent for industrial and medicinal purpose. Pure iridium is extremely brittle, to the point of being hard to weld because the heat-affected zone cracks, but mixing with small quantities of titanium and zirconium will make it more ductile. In short, devices that must withstand extremely high temperatures are often made from iridium. (So why CA linked the usage of Iridium bar for sprinkler and to be imbued onto our tools ?)

I still believed the entrance to Elves kingdom lies in the Hidden Wood. Or at least by somehow communicating with Fairies or even Witches. Who know, maybe they have something to bribe, er, 'gift' with to talk.

I kind of headcanon that there's some hints of magic that the people in Stardew Valley use casually/unconsciously. Such as the backpack (plus its extensions), or a lot of the video game logic type stuff that happens in day-to-day life.

I want to know why nobody ever leaves. I'm beginning to suspect that the mayor and some of the older folks run around in werewolf costumes to imprison everyone there. You can hear their howls at night.

All we need is a blind chick to go get medicine so we'll be free of elderly werewolf tyranny.

I find this game really strange sometimes. Some of the time this game seems perfectly realistic and happy. But when you get deeper into the game, that's when you discover much more like dwarfs, void people, creepypastas, and rumors of Sam & Penny doing youknowwhat in a tree. That's one reason why I love this game.

OHHH MAN, mermen! I thought the "elliot is a merman" was like a silly meme and joke, buT NO THE WIZARD TALKS ABOUT THEM. I think that's so great. (and elliot as a merman is such a great headcanon people have)

oooh skull cave! i haven't completed that so i know zilch about that.

i would love a dlc someday or an expansion to discover the lore about the dwarves and magical creatures honestly

THE CREEPYPASTAS ARE MY FAVORITE. i am such a horror buff (well, specific horror) so the serious subjects and less-than-innocent implications in the game MAKE ME SO EXCITED. It just makes me wanna dig into the game even more to see what's there.

I think finding out more on how the Dwarves and Elves and other beings of magic, would be pretty interesting and would add something extra to the game play. Also whats with the wizard? The wizard isn't just there to examine plants and wildlife! I want to know more about why he's there as well! Maybe he's an Elf? Who knows? I want answers! LOL

I think he might have come there to get an apprentice, with the added suspicion that one of the townspeople may be his daughter. I wonder if he actually has people he is considering. My first guess would be the farmer, but with the conspiracies about Abigail (and to a lesser extent, Jas) it makes me curious what his motives are

                          Landwalker Pangalactic Porcupine

Sounds like this question needs a good ol' fashioned conspiracy theory, so here it is:

The events of the game aren't real—and I don't mean "not real" in the sense that they're obviously not real because we're playing a game, I mean "not real" in the sense of "not real within the context of the Stardew Valley world."

Why, you ask? I'm so glad you did! Consider the following:
                          1. Nobody ever leaves Stardew Valley to go anywhere, ever. Some characters make references to other locations, but never visit them (e.g. Haley does all of her shopping online).
                          2. Nobody ever ages. You can play for a hundred in-game years, and everyone will still be there, same roles, same routine. If your farmer has kids, they reach toddler status in a matter of days and then stop forever.
                          3. Nothing ever changes without the player character changing it.
                          4. For a tiny village like Pelican Town, there are a lot of things present that make no sense.
                            • There's the in-game equivalent of a WalMart in a town with a total population of about 40.
                            • Not coincidentally, JojaMart is the manifestation of what the farmer was fleeing at the start of the game.
                            • The town has a blacksmith, carpenter, and rancher, all of whom have exactly one customer, ever (the player character).
                          5. Literally the whole world of Pelican Town revolves around the player character. The PC is the only character who ever generates romantic interest, and they can generate it from every eligible resident. The PC is the only character to effect change on the game world (be it bus repair, bridge repair, mine carts, community center, so on and so forth).
                          6. Most of the world makes no internally consistent sense: You have automobiles and the internet, and you're exploring caves with a pointy stick?
                          7. Even Calico Desert exists solely for the player character—there's a shop in the literal middle of nowhere that has exactly one customer, a shopkeeper with nowhere to live, and a casino in the back populated by patrons and employees who also spring into existence from a vacuum. The place has no parking lot, there is no other bus in the area, they just "are there."
                          8. There is straight-up magic, but nobody (except the wizard) ever acknowledges that it definitely exists. There's a wizard living outside of town who makes no attempt to conceal who he is, and people are just like "Oh yeah that weird guy, I wonder what that's all about."
                          So what's the story here?

The start of the game is "real"—the character gets a deed from his or her dying grandfather, works at a soul-crushing faceless corporation for a while, and decides "eff it" and hops on the bus for SDV.

                          The bus crashes.

The player is (at best) in a coma in the hospital. At worst, dead.

Everything in Stardew Valley is a coma-dream/hallucination, in a world created entirely within the player-character's subconscious head.

That's why nothing ever changes. That's why everything revolves around the farmer. Stardew Valley literally only exists for the would-be farmer's benefit, because the character is the one who created it.

Some sentient beings seem to have predated the dwarves, given the presence of prehistoric axes and such. What became of them, we don't know. Perhaps Jojo, in an act reminiscent of Soylent Green, converted them into cola.

The dwarves crashed into the planet, but seem to have lost almost all their technology, machines, and the brains to fix them, reverting to very basic helmets and the like. They went underground, for reasons that have never been made clear, though possibly all their sunscreen was destroyed along with their ship. They spent their leisure time writing four scrolls, over and over and over and over.

The junimos are sentient, considerably more so than Jas, Vincent, or Pam after belting down a few. Their goal in life would appear to be to get the new farmer in town to repair the community center so they can reestablish their central headquarters, thus setting the stage for their complete control of the world.
