Wonder what happened on this planet?

It looks like a mass grave down here.



I dunno about anyone else, but I like to wonder about things when I play games like these and this has just made me start thinking big time. What happened here? This isn't just one little area, there's a whole layer of this stuff, this screenshot was actually taken about 30+ blocks down from where I first saw it.

 

Graveyard world?
Mass extinction?
A really bored Floran?

 

Looks too large scale for Floran. They're crazy, but this is literally hundreds of thousands of skeletons.

 

Maybe it was the tentacle beast.

 

Really bored necromancer.

Seriously, have you seen how many Skeletons the D2 Necromancer goes through? Seriously. Well, now you know where he's been sending all the bony things off to when he's done killing things with them.

 

A really, REALLY bored Floran? P

I think the Guild Wars necromancer was equally silly.

 

The day I find something like this I shall build a palace of bone in honor of the dead.

 

You can actually do this. There are recipes for all sorts of bone furniture.

 

Better yet, My friend had gotten starbound for a total of like 3 hours when he dug down into an entire planet of this.
Like, there was dirt on top and after 30 seconds of mining, nothing but flesh and bone blocks.

Needless to say he was slightly disturbed.

 

Better than the endless caverns of slime and poison pools that I stumbled in to...

 

*Big-Ape-Hand wave* This is nothing but an unusual looking rock formation with fossils of weather balloons. Move on, citizen.

Much more comfortable with the bones than the flesh ground you run into when your pretty deep. Flesh ground is just disturbing, and the sound it makes when you jump on it....EEEK!

 

Yeah, I don't like it when I'm on a perfectly normal looking planet, then mine down into massive sections of bone, flesh, slime, and corrupted dirt. Those should be on a planet they make sense on, like grave yard worlds, the ones with the flesh stalks, tentacle planets, or the like. I don't want nasty, disturbing stuff like that lurking under my idyllic jungle, unless there's a reason given, or there's hints on the surface that it's down there. Otherwise it's just like, "WTF is this!!! Why is it here?! This s so gross! Get off my planet!"

 

I wish one day while hacking through these layers of bone, flesh blocks( which I really would love to "bake" into bricks, I really dig the deep red colour) and slime we could come across a huge skull we could take home for a trophy. Or skulls. Many, many skulls.

(my Skyrim home was tip to toe covered in all the skulls, habit of mine, lol!)

 

Wait for fossils, then you can do just that.

 

you know I just digging down into a big BIG cave ...and i fall down it i had no light an landed on something creepy looking in the dark i heard noises all around me
then the cool music on the surface ended and the dark music when you dig really deep started.... after I crafted a torch and placed it I saw only these skull/bone blocks everywhere ... and then I was killed by a black creature... because of that I realised I'm on a lvl 10 planet .

 

Someone tried to make them whole.
