With which game would you fuse Starbound?

This may make little sense but I'm listening to the Turok 2 ost and imagining being on a planet being overrun by the mantids or dinosoids. Glitch knights basically defending their castles / villages from this onslaught of hyper-intelligent insectoids and mutated reptiles with plasma weaponry, Apex trying to befriend them (and failing), Florans don't know what to do and just try to hunt them (and also fail because of the dinosoid's ability to turn invisible), Avians and Humans maaay stand a chance, possibly apex if they got it together and realized that science needs to be a weapon this time rather than a mutual bond. Just a thought, though.

I actually had an idea that I never got around to trying to mod where there was a Tier level past X that was somewhat like the hallowed biomes in Terraria. In order to reach it you'd have to either kill a boss or construct a portal (which probably woldn't have been possible at the time due to limitations) that would allow your ship to fly to the "unknown" sector. It would resemble the Hallowed from terraria in a way by being brightly colored, the npcs would act VERY weird around you and each other, and the weapons would have a more holy-like look to them.

You just know every Floran would eat Breakfast Sausage made of Hytlotl. Apex Big Ape Loyalists would be akin to the Duty faction, and rebels would be the Freedom faction. Glitch who are self-aware would likely be the Ecologists, and blood-crazy Florans would be Mercenaries, with the non-self-aware Glitch acting as Monolith. Demon-birds (any bird with a ranged attack) would be merged with the Chimera, so even higher ground couldn't save you, and Burors would be much more common. Oh, and zombies would be believable, as their brains would be scorched and not your standard zombies. Hytlotl would be people like Barkeep or Owl, humans would be like Sultan, all that great stuff.

 

Instead I imagine doing a Starbound x Crackle Cradle (video below) spinoff in which you get to play as a ragtag team of vanilla and a handful of modded race characters. Their only task: Annihilate the giant tentacle planet that turned out to be pretty much an Eldritch Cross-Dimensional Mess.

Glad you like that. Still, I have difficulties determining what race Nimble would be, as he is pure awesome in Call of Pripyat.

Another thing I wish for... is a jRPG spinoff Starbound. Explore the world in a Metroidvania fashion, but the battle will be Persona inspired with Fallout's VATS targeting.

 

When you say Fallout, do you mean like Fallout 1/2/Tactics where you could aim for the eyes/hand/groin/etc that used 1 extra AP per shot?

 

Yep, those older Fallouts. The new-gen is a bit simplified.

 

Skyrim, for unique dungeons and lore, even after a long two years of innovation of games. It holds up and will stay standing for a while as a great game because of it's dynamics, that although weren't really "new" definitely improved on.

 

I don't want to anger you but Morrowind is better. Its unique and different from everything else.

 

Make sure to get on that Telvanni vendor's good side since she's the only spell-merchant who sells the Summon Golden Saint spell in the entire game. Granted, your gear will look like it's covered in saran-wrap after a round of enchanting backed-up by overpowered alchemy potions, unless you use a mod to get rid of the visual effect.

 

I believe you, I just haven't gotten around to playing it yet.
