With which game would you fuse Starbound?

I gotta say, I like the idea of a KSP splice, or spore. For me, probably something like Galactic Princess, or Captain Forever for people that know of that. A kind of build your own ship outta parts thing, but extend that to bases and stations.

Starbound + spore definitely they'd mesh so well as a 3d (not 3d glasses but like a non-2d) game.

Starbound + touhou (actually I just want touhou bosses in starbound >.>)

Battleships Forever would be another good splice.

constructable ships, with how you build them affecting their capabilities. In Starbound, you would probably have a variety of modules: scanners, drop pods, teleporters, engines and storage space for you to choose, rather than a variety of lasers and cannons.

    Think along these lines:

You can build a light exploration ship, it's fast, it takes very little fuel, and has 2 chests for cargo space. The ship has a drop pod, which is used to get onto the surface before you set a teleport beacon, and a teleporter. Scanners are near-nonexistant, you know what sector the planet's in and that's about it. A light exploration ship is barebones, pretty much a chair with engines attached.

A heavy exploration ship would look quite different. The ship is much larger, and therefore takes much more fuel. However, it's equipped with most scanners, before you arrive on the planet, you'll know the exact difficulty of the planet, its ore density, location, biome and perhaps even notable monsters. It has a heavy drop pod that sets up a small base for you on landing, complete with a beacon, a pair of auto-turrets and some storage. It also has an auto-drop module that can send mechs to your location from orbit, provided you've given it the materials. It's storage capacity is enormous, with several large lockers and tons of chests.

Or, you could fly a flagship. A self-sustaining flying space station. The ship is enormous, from spaceborne farms, spacious luxury rooms that one would not find craft where fuel is an issue, and its bulk is mostly from a labyrinthine maze of storage facilities, The flagship's identity is defined by it being fitted with massive bulk teleporters able to airlift containers from the surface, perhaps even entire bases are shared between the surface and within the flagship's massive bulk. The problem is that moving it is nigh-impossible. However, no matter where you go, you will be doing it right, with no luxury unsatisfied.

    I think I got a bit distracted.

This picture reminds me of the joke:
Two engineers are walking around campus one day, one of them walking along with a bike. The other engineer asks the first one how he got a bike.
The engineer says that he was walking along, and a girl rode up to him on this bike, stopped, took off all her clothes, and said "Take what you want".
The second engineer nods and says "Good call, the clothes probably wouldn't have fit."

Anyway, for some strange reason it also made me think about Long Live the Queen. This game has achievements for dying in new fashions, and it would be even funnier to add "Death by Meteor Storm" or "Death by gigantic Meteor" to those. So, CF should clearly merge Starbound with a non-realtime story game with heavy tabletop RPG influences and a female protagonist.

    Sir Skywatcher Master Chief

My choice would be commander keen. I think it's dungeon style would fit starbound. Land on planet wide dungeon levels and pogo stick your way through. Those dungeons could be handcrafted and rare as a part of a questline. I'd love to see marooned on mars martians as npc monsters in the game.

  6. Moon Star

    Moon Star Cosmic Narwhal

I would fuse Starbound with Terraria.
Imagine if Starbound had a lot more content than it already has now. They both use similar graphics and it plays relatively the same for both. Just imagine what it'd be like.

  7. Disco2

    Disco2 Existential Complex

I would fuse Call Of Duty with Starbound
Imagine GUNZ WITH MORE GUNZ:yuno:ATTACHED WITH MORE GUNZ! :pfff:

    Truly beautiful:cry:

  8. Alessondria

    Alessondria Big Damn Hero

X3: Albion Prelude or Star Wars

...We need more space ship centered stuff and major inhabited stations/ worlds all our ships know about. I mean like the top 10 Floran 'infested' worlds we can go to but can't build on/ change. Communication hubs. Diplomatic safe havens. And ship battles! Sure we are the vagabond explorers of the vast universe but our ship computers would know where those major systems are!

Seems like Starbound would benefit from either of those infusions.

Starbound + any game with good ranged weapons you can craft, as I am tired of looting another boring assault rifle that has the word Dudebro as part of the random name generation.

    The forest + starbound.
3D first survival/horror game... in space.
The aliens ambush you at night, suddenly, when you don't expect to and do your own business...

I would mix Starbound with Skyrim because of the adventuring and the creature and weps in the gaame make the feel of it more dangous!

A vibrant living galaxy. Trade lanes, space ships, factions, trading, exploring and dogfighting in space. As well as on all the planets. it would be epic

    Juice Box Pangalactic Porcupine

Juice Box would fuse Starbound with Bad Rats, as that is Juice Box's favorite game.
Caution: Juice Box recommends NOT searching gameplay of that game
Seriously though, Juice Box would love some type of village management system similar to Age of Empires or Civilization, where Juice Box can build his own town, expand it, then take the recources of his townsfolk.
