you mean www.chucklefish.org? Yeah, you're right... it costs way too much money to already make use of a domain name / server that's already up and running. I suppose it would take more time to maintain, but it's not like they haven't had the time; someone has been making the publishing deals the last several months and hiring a whole other team to begin development on a new game. There's an idea... hire someone to maintain the websites that actually knows more than clicking 'new post'
Molly, you should really think about what you name a post. This was, in no way at all, a progress report. Way to blue balls the entire community.
The new game looks cool but be careful about how you word your posts unfortunetly this crowd of people doesn't have a lot of patience.
I wish good luck for the new game. (I will keep an eye on it for sure) But now... tiy's team need to stop looking the work of others and go back to their own project !!! or I will kick your ASses!! Just kidding. or not More seriously, I wish that doesn't make it too strange to change country... Sometime only change city change everything. I would be totally lost. (specially because english is not my first language)
That's quite an accusation, but I can assure you it isn't the case. Posts are deleted if they break the rules, not for having a negative view on Chucklefish. The problem is that these views are often communicated in such an aggressive way that they do wind up breaking forum rules, and for that reason get taken down. Then people start throwing around accusations of censorship because someone took down their insult-filled flamebait. It doesn't help that some people feel the need to look for black helicopters whenever a new News thread is posted.
Negative posts are more deleted than the other because this is in those post people break the rules most the time... It is easy to tell good stuff and stay calm and respect the rules... but when you are telling negative stuff it is really easy to let the anger consume you and tell stuff you shouldn't and break the rules with insult and stuff... (note that can even be by people defending cf who break the rule...) Also, that's not the subject of the post so...
WITCHMARSH looks interesting... The kickstarter is up to about $8,000 US already, perhaps Chucklefish's marketing strategy's work? Seemed to work great for Heart Forth, Alicia, that other new game to be published by CF. @Jonesy, the black helicopter is low on fuel, we need to return to the secret base soon... the Dark Masters will want the report...
First people complain about updates being small with not much content. Then they complain about the updates with lots of content taking too much time.
I'm sad when I read news about other games seeing as I'm on this site for Starbound and its news. It's already been a long time since any news worth reading so please don't make news about other games... It's like you guys want me to stop playing Starbound :'( Can't you put all non-related news at chucklefish.org? It would make so much more sense! BUT I'm happy you guys are doing good! I look forward to next week with more info!
london must be a nice place to stay, i wish strengh to you all, your work is great Hugs from Brazil! ^^
looks great guys. the style and your (very) brief description about this game struck a chord with me, and my sense of appreciation for storytelling/the setting. good stuff!
I should try the chucklefish approach at work to see how long I would get to keep my job. Hey boss, that project you expected months back that I promised weekly updates for, I have news for you: I found another game to play and also, no progress to report.
You can't actually prove this. I can't prove that people are overly positive about how progress is going, but saying that a number of people are significantly dissatisfied with the way a company's progression is going without hard facts... is just words. I fell into that trap before, until surveys or statistics came along and showed that a vocal minority is just that. Be it positive or negative. I mean you ask a random schmuck on a video game site about their opinion of Call of Duty and chances are it'll be widely negative. But if you were to do a blind survey of various individuals in numerous different capacities and tastes, you'll find that opinion is much further to the right than to the left.
