Thread for discussing what you've done with the wiring system.
Simple stuff, overly complex stuff, stupid stuff.

Today, I created a door that requires two switches active before it will open.
I keep the first switch on the planet surface, near the door, and the second switch deeper in my lair/base/house/whatever.

Being able to lock your door won't stop anyone from just breaking it, but it still makes me feel safer.

That's actually really nifty. Nice work!

You can also do things like this with doors.
While the switch is active, another door opens and closes rapidly, functioning as a primitive alarm.

Putting two and two together, you can make a door that locks, and sounds an alarm when open. Wow!

Wow! Had no idea we could use this!

Imagine a meat/leather farm: wired horizontal door (if it exists) conected to a sensor on the floor (to much minecraft?) and with a pool of water bellow it!
All the aliens would fall and voila - food processing plant!

    :)

    Glitch trapdoor.

I am pretty sure hostile mobs can't drown, but you could shoot them in whatever hole you dropped them into.
Or you could use lava/toxic sludge and just bounce your head off of the ceiling beneath the pit.

We've made a 4 second long clock shown here.

Also here you can see the 7 segment hexadecimal display for a 8-bit adder we have posted.

Here's an image of just how crazy we are.

Oh also we're working on lights out game that was shown on reddit. We decided to give our own version a try and see if we couldn't make it more compact.

That's actually really cool. It looks like you guys have access to some wire pieces I haven't stumbled upon yet - or did you spawn the gates in?

I want to learn this sooo bad!

All the items we used are already in the assets and are 3D printable. We did initially have to spawn one of each so we could 3D print them for our projects so we wouldn't have to spawn more in ourselves every time we ran out.

I look at this kind of awesomeness and I can't help but be in awe of the possibilities that'll be out there when actual logic gate blocks are implemented.

Well as I said, they already have. They're in the assests

Looks like next update's patch notes has crafting recipes and whatnot for each gate.
Looking forward to giving those a try - I did all sorts of silly things in minecraft with redstone.

Hopefully we'll end up with tripwires and/or pressureplates and/or motion sensors.
If not, I'll have something to do.

From what I've seen pressure plates, buttons (THIS IS A SUPER BIG DEAL FOR ME), and some other things are indeed in the next patch. So it should be awesome.
