I got Willy this year, and you can't receive the Tea Set from Willy according to the Wiki. If I reload, will I get a different gift giver, or will it still be Willy? Thanks in advance! Also, can the Tea Set be gotten from the Furniture Catalogue?
You get your secret person a week before, so if you're talking about restarting the day of, you're out of luck, if not, if you're talking about the day you get your person, I think you can, I'm pretty sure it's random. And if it doesn't work, well Willy still gives good gifts.
I meant the person who gives you the gift, not the other way around. Example, I gave a gift to Pierre, Willy gave a gift to me. If I reload on the day of the Winter Star Feast, would it still be Willy- it was, I just went ahead and tested it. Can you reload on the same day for different gift sets, or is that pre-determined as well? All he gave me were magnet tackles.
The only way to find out is to try it out, really. Doesn't hurt to try, right? I personally don't know how the system work.
It always seems to me as if everything that is randomized on the overworld (not the mines/skull cavern) is set in stone the second the game saves. Gold/Iridium Statues produce the same item, Items from "worm" spots are the same, spawning forage the same, Help Wanted quests etc. etc. etc. So my guess is, the only way to change your secret santa is either to reset one day BEFORE the Festival - which sounds kinda impossible without cheating as you're already on that day. Or the other one is to reset to one day before your Secret Santa was determined. So over a week before the festival x.x My other guess is that the tea set can be gifted by everyone to you. I had it given to my by Linus, Pierre and Clint in different saves - they all aren't in the list the wiki has so it might be as well totally randomized x.x Nyways, good luck getting it ^o^
I've been trying to get a tea set forever too (9 in game years)! Since you already have it on your other files... is it possible for you to send the code for it in your saved game files to me? If you don't mind of course and I can tell you which bit of the code you send if you agree!
From experimenting myself for tea set.. I can say that I have resetted the day (17th) before we get the mail for your secret santa, 10 times already and no matter what... I would have gotten george as my secret santa on the 18th... And on the actually festive day i would always get harvey as my own secret santa and he would always give me a nautilus shell! Then i tried to reset the day before the event ( did this 7 times), still same old harvey and his nautilus shell gift. Which makes me wonder if the whole secret santa allocations were done on the 1st of winter? Unless, i am very unlikely to get george 10 times with RNG.
