For now this is unfortunately true, you need to put those custom songs away (perhaps in a folder on your desktop somewhere).

I'm sure this will be temporary, but it's currently an issue with the game's way of detecting modded assets... It will not exclude the song folder (which has been bothering me as well).

But we need to keep that setting on, because it reduces lag from other people using bad mods by a lot, making the server much more stable.

You can however try one thing.. Rename those new songs you have to some of the existing default songs in the folder (after deleting those default ones indeed). It has been reported to be working.

 

Most servers dont allow custom songs. So, no you cant join this server with custom songs

 

lol most you say, this is the first server ive encountered the wouldn't let me use custom songs.

Server's back up btw, with additional protection now from the update, things are working well!

 

Apparently the Starrybound wrapper doesnt like special characters like ' in names... can that be fixed?

 

It might, if it doesn't cause trouble. We'll look into it!

EDIT: it's possible but it will cause issues, we're not too fond of issues now we got everything working right, maybe there's a way to alter your characters name?

You need no new character at all and spawn is secure

 

Don't worry, all the regulars on this server are super friendly and wouldn't do anything to troll or steal from you anyways. ^^

 

Fixed up that server status thing, although it shows a higher playercap than the actual one (reserved spots for admins etc). The actual playercap is still 20, but might change if things will run well now.

If you're wondering why the music sounds better than usual, I added some reverb/delay effects to improve the sound a bit, and the instrument choice itself was simply excellent!

Reminder:

if you get an "asset digest mismatch" error, you need to remove any extra songs you added (sorry).

if you get a "wrong password" error, you need to restart your Starbound and then ONLY fill in the IP, do NOT touch the password field, windoom starbound has no password.

Will update the OP with this information.

 

Anyone have any ideas on stuff to do? I am bored with nothing to do in Starbound anymore. ;_;
