Will you spoil by watching videos?

As the beta is closing in, there's going to be videos of starbound. In fact; there already are.
Will you spoil by watching videos/streams?
Have you bought the game already?
When have you planned of buying the game?
What will you do when you get the game?

 

I've already watched a couple of videos people have posted. From what I saw, the game seems to progress fairly slowly in the beginning (most of the videos I saw, the furthest anyone got was the construction of a rudimentary camp and some basic equipment). So unless someone holds a big livestream of the game, I'm not entirely concerned about being spoiled with much before the beta release. Though to be on the safe side, I likely wont watch any of the videos from now on until I get my hands on my own copy.

 

Yeah, learning frome someone's mistakes is going to help me.

 

I prefer to make my own mistakes and discover things for myself. That's one of the biggest things I've been looking forward to in this game. I don't want to ruin it by watching a bunch of different people find things first. I will wait one. more. day. and do it all myself or with my friends.

 

That's what I like to do too. No videos for me.

 

Yeah I broke down and watched a few vids.....

Saw nothing that I haven't seen in screens and streams so far. By the time they find anything new or interesting I will be playing myself

 

the gamer in me watched them, all the while yelling at the screen thinking they could hear me...

i didnt feel spoiled by watching the video's/streams just makes me more eager to record Gabbo goes to space (yes let's play for youtube)

 

There's only so much you can spoil in a procedurally generating game.

 

I don't consider it spoiling my dinner. I just consider it whetting my appetite.

But I suppose if a video has huge ass plot spoilers, I might avoid it. But I play a game to play a game, not to read a story.

 

I watched a bit of the footage, but I will just wait till wednesday now, I think I will try to discover the game on my own

 

Since it is coming out tomorrow, I might as well, it is not like they will get far anyway, being slow casual players after all

 

All the Streams i have watched i just saw random newbies jumping around screaming.
Not much spoiler there!

 

It's more like others exploring the game for you, that's how I see it. But you're completely right, it's not like watching videos of the walking dead.

 

You can spoil tools, items, loot, and other equipment you want to figure out how you craft by yourself. Not all people feel this way.

 

Playing is better than watching
