Will you need to put up a server or is the devs making a server for a ton of people?

Is it going to be like Terraria where you put up a server, or is it going to be like MMORPGs wheres there's official servers?

 

Yeah, I've been wondering this. I get the sense it's personal servers, but the corporations act kind of like guilds and that's more of an mmo concept.

I'm not generally a fan of MMOs, but given the suggested scale of the universe, I think I'd prefer to play on a large server.

On Topic: I hope for Beta they host a rather large server! So we don't have to worry about Port Forwarding :/

Well, Johm...hehe...
Maybe they could host a server for fans, but I like having the ability to run my own (or going on a friend's) server...
Things just seem to busy and items already taken on larger servers.

 

I think it'd be really cool if they hosted a server for the beta testers, we could share all the stuff we find ingame

i kinda wish they would do it like MinerWars did... aka they have an solo and multiplayer version... and a online version aswell

 

This is an important skill to have (Post Forwarding), and though there is no need for them to host, though it might be good during the beta so there is one focused area to converse at. But if they don't and the server side of things are working maybe it might be an idea for one of the people in the Beta to run this server in their place.

I think Terraria showed that this multi-version isn't needed when you have a Client/Server setup

umm minerwars has a client/server set up and they still have an online world to go with it
