Will We See A "Meet The Hylotl"?

We don't need a human one considering we are human. I believe the point of those is to get to understand their lore. Whenever humans are in video games they're usually... human.

 

I should certainly hope so George. I mean they do pay you to work, not sit there.

I dunno, one of the Devs already said it may have been a place holder, have to wait and see. What we do know is they are uptight apparently and a fallen people, what ever that snippet of secret means

 

They are stoic and even arrogant, and once possessed great technology, but have since lost much of their former glory due to some catastrophic event that probably involved some kind of warfare. Basically, they sound a lot like Elves, thinking they are better than everyone else and always following strict rules, the favored of the gods, etc... The Fair Folk also have their fair share of ties to the water element in many myths. In some fantasy settings, the Elves are as close to Asian as you can get.

If nothing else, it is fun to theory craft about it.

I normally hate these Hylotl sushi jokes, but that image is too great.

 

Didn't the devs state a couple of moths ago that you will be able to "find" the different race's lores in books that you can acquire from different places. Personally, if I ever get my hands on one of these books I will read it all through because loresFTW!

 

I would imagine you would find lore related things in the "logbook", but seeing as how each race will have a different thing to say, there might not be very accurate descriptions...
For example Humans: "The Apex, an advanced and sophisticated race, blah blah blah blah etc." Florans: "MMM, TASTY APEX, GOOD PELTS TOO"
Could be interesting!

 

Unlikely, I don't mind the idea of cloaking a race in a bit of secrecy, I mean it was a bit of a mistake in hindsight to reveal all that avian lore to us in the newsletter but it did help us cope with the wait. still I agree we should get a bit of a look at hylotl culture, but only a little info

 

Would be cool if the hylotl were blocked off from strangers like Japan was for a while. They would have been a ancient space traveling race but then went into a time of no technological or social progress so now everyone has a similar technological level to them.

 

I'm gonna choose the Hylotl, and whatever race you choose, I will slaughter them all.
