Will there be ponies?

If it's as you say and they don't try to imitate the style of the show, it's ok. A dialogue reference is fine, they did that in Terraria and I laughed a lot at it.

 

That is exactly what I said in the second part of that quote. I would love nothing more than to simply have a fleeting reference mixed in here or there, seamlessly blend in with the background, like a glove to a hand.

 

Well, obviously there will be hate, but it's as if everyone thinks they will turn Starbound into some form of a MLP based game that will ruin every single person's experience when they play it. I highly doubt that anyone would change a game enough to lose potential players. Honestly, i don't know any of them, but if you think about it, there's no possible way they will add actual characters to the game. Of course it will bring a lawsuit, someone always brings that up, lol. Also, the dynamic of the game they are aiming for cannot possibly stay on track while still adding ponies in the game. This is not a voting thread either, but people seem to think that if they show how much hate they have, it will stop them from adding it to the game, but here's the thing. No one said they were going to add it.

I'm not going to read all 4 pages of this -.-
All I know is, if ponies are there, I'll be happy, great. If they're not, understood. No need to hate and bash on people that like it.

Despite the mildly annoying common occurence of all the ponies everywhere i go on the internet, it wouldnt bother me to see a roundabout reference as a joke :>

 

I don't think it should be implanted, in any other way but a harmless joke. Like, in Terraria, the Wizard says "Someone once told me Friendship is Magic. That's ridiculous. You can't turn people into frogs with friendship."

Friendship is magic referring to MLP, of course.

 

Why not just make yourself and your bronies a mod for them so the rest of us regular human beings could just enjoy a game that doesn't have a childrens show gone to hell in what seems to be a great up and coming game

I'd be fine with ponies in the game. Ponies as in miniature horses. Not the talking rainbow friendship ones. Sorry, my opinion, I'm entitled to it as you're entitled to yours. They can't really legally use the My Little Pony stuff anyway.

 

I can't see why there can't be normal horses. I mean, I think horses were around longer than MLP, anyways..
