Will there be ponies?

"Bronies" is a fad that I hate.

Honestly if there was, I would have the glee of creating the first and last pony genocide of my galaxy. ^_^

Well, since there are people who doesn't prefer ponies, how about to put all the cute things onto one type of planet? This way, you won't see ponies on every other planet you visit.

On a side note, if I do find a planet like this, I would find lyra, and give her Spike's hands.

I think putting all of the cute stuff on one planet would be a good idea. I know I would want my base on a peaceful planet. That or a zombie planet.

 

Ponies would be acceptable if you can kill them.

 

Basically...What the guy before me said, otherwise, I don't think so and this video illustrates my opinion on the issue, just for some laughs .

 

MLP is just another mediocre kids cartoon. I saw a few episodes while my 12 year old daughter watched it. As an adult who sometimes enjoys cartoons and anime (if they are good), I cant see any reason to watch more of this show myself, but have no problem with my daughter watching it. There are way better shows, including way better cartoons.

The whole brony thing is just people looking for attention or grouping, The fact that they picked a show clearly designed for young girls is just to add shock value to the sentiment really. and thats fine for them as well, it doesnt affect me.

That said, I have no problem with unicorns, pegasus, horses, whatever in the game, but in the context and style of the game world. If they add my little pony style creatures into the game, it will be a detriment to the overall feel of the game. Now, references or the like are fine, but a planet full of mishappen talking horses would be bad.

 

Probably there will be references, but gods be praised I hope they don't add the MLP kind.
If they do, that's just giving people a reason to complain and flame.

That's why only reference should be added, but a planet (Only one) with a couple ponies (Not talking, that would be too far fetched probably) would be nice for the small community of bronies that will play this. I'm most likely going to get my friends to play this, brony or not, but they will still enjoy it.

 

Well, if ponies are added, then, it's ok, but I think it is not a necessity, since I don't think it fits the game, you know, lol, I like Dragon Ball a lot, but I don't think putting Goku, Gohan or Piccolo in the game would be too fitting... It all comes to what fits the game the most, I guess.

 

Though I wold think having all of the cute things imaginable compacted into one planet type would definately reduce the amount of hate generated by the haters. Hallow contained all the "good" and "cute" things of Terraria, and people loved it for it's deadliness.

Though I doubt people complained about the hollow, and we had unicorns in the hollow!

But I have to agree wit hnot putting MLP style artwork in to the game; it's a lawsuit waiting to happen!

 

See, but no one said it was a necessity. People see "Add" and "Ponies" and they start the hate. Lol, I suggested a reference, MAYBE a pony or two. I do not wish them to talk, as that would most likely not reflect the game.

 

The hollow followed Terraria's style, it didn't stride off the style the game had. Terraria's unicorns were fine and had a design of its own, that wouldn't hurt in Starbound... I guess...? But, you know, a direct reference with the design of the show would just be too much...

Edit: I myself don't hate the show, but it's too cute for me, I'm sorry, I can't stand it, lol. But regarding Starbound, well, if it's done with the style of the game, I approve of it. BTW, as someone said, hate is a strong word, you can hate the show, but not the people who like it.

 

Design of the show? Ok, it's a pixelated game that has it's own design. Even if they put in ponies, it wouldn't look like the show, it would probably just be a colorful horse with a less realistic look about it. By reference, I mean a dialogue reference or possibly just a picture on a wall or something subtle(ish) along those lines.

 

I think ordinary equine creatures, such as horses and ponies would be a fine addition to the game, adding to the variety of life by including more Earth-like animals, as well as more alien life, like poptops.

I think the reason everyone is getting so worked up is because they are imagining MLP-style ponies, rather than Earth-like ones. Although I can imagine that many bronies and pegasisters will aquire a pony pet, then try to change it's colour somehow. This would likely cause many non-bronies to either run away screaming or open fire with everything. And judging by the negative reactions here, that might include orbital strikes, nukes or other planet-buster weapons.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not bothered by the thought of the occasional brightly-coloured pony turning up, I just thought it appropriate to warn you as to what might happen.
