Will there be pets?

Any clue if there will be Non-combat pets that follow you around or companions that will fight for you?

I'd Really like a red panda pet or even a Kitty.

There'll definitely be companions that fight for you judging by this. But no idea if they'll follow you around or be any "Non-combat" pets... I'm sure if they have this, they'll also have non combat too ... At least, they better!!! *Shakes fist*

Yea, I guess it would be a sort of Pokemon style. I think I also read somewhere that most if not all creatures can be caught and trained. So that will definitely be interesting. Terraria had a sort of "hacky" way that you could get a rabbit pet that followed you around, I'm guessing that it'll be fully implemented in Starbound.

Yes. You will be able to tame almost every mob in the game.

Yeah, I hope, however, that they will follow you around at all times, instead of just being dropped down from the spaceship, and I also hoope that you can do more than just fight with them, and why do they have to be "pets", I want captive animals that I can do genetic testing on!

I just used the word "pets" generally speaking and for a lack of a more defining word.

 

Oh, yeah i know, but the way they describe it makes it seem like you won't be able to forceully capture animals and do experiments on them.

 

I am drooling thinking of my collection in my laboratory full of creatures in pokeballs!!! I hope they have a ghost similar to haunter (something scarier than the ghost virorb).

 

A friend of mine has declared her intent to have a feline swarm follow in her wake.

I am filled with terror and anticipation.
