Will the trees regrow?

Will the trees regrow? Or is there any SEED for trees?

 

From what I have read, no. It sucks but you can always go to more planets for woods.

I believe they plan to implement it eventually though.

 

No regrowth for trees. You'll have to move to another planet and strip the trees you find there for now.

 

Strip the resources from the planets, then leave.
(There are a butt ton of trees though.)

 

I must be incredibly unlucky. I started on a planet that had very few trees and lots of huge flowers. Should I ditch the planet ASAP?

 

Not entirely sure, walk to either direction far enough and you'll probably find bountiful forests.

 

I found a prison! But no trees. I get overwhelmed and quickly killed if I go to far out, I feel it would be easier if I had wood to make better things, lol.

Hmm... I just hope they WILL implement a way to regrow old trees, or to plant a new ones from seeds. Or both. For me wood is not much of a problem on it's own. I just grab some coal, and than I go for another planet. Easy... But man... I find trees in starbound to have some kind of beauty and I just HATE to have permanently get rid of them... It makes planets so... So "empty" and "soulless"...

 

I hate that things dont regrow, I make a nice little place to live by and than all of a sudden I have no wood and have to srtip all of the planet, than leave it becasue there is no more wood and than find out that I have to make all of the places to live by again .
I hope they to implement that feature

 

They said on twitter that they are working on the tree thing. They just seem more focused on balancing combat and stuff like that right now.

 

I'm pretty sure trees DO regrowth, it just takes too much time to see the diffirence, as you will be out of planet before they grow again. I had once a base on my starting planet, chopped all the trees that were near me, then went mining to the nearest moon and when I came back, trees were there, in slightly diffirent places, like 2-3 blocks away, but they were standing proudly :d

Still, I need to test that again.

 

I think that the combat is fine , maybe they should also start thinking on what to do when the first world you meet is a world with no trees, just like to giant plants that only leave plant fibre, than you can't find any wood and can't go on. As well as making trees regrow. The only thing I hate about the combat is that if you are against someone who has a ranged weapon, than it is really hard to get near for the melees attack if that is your strongest weapon :/

 

Nope, they don't regrow. (can be proven code-wise). But, they might add it in the future

 

I definitely want to see a way to harvest seeds from trees so that I can replant them on my home planet. It could be some sort of seed extractor that you can find a blueprint for or unlock later in the game so that people are still encouraged to leave their planets and explore but will eventually have the ability to plant their favorite trees on their home planets.

 

It's a planned feature. Not implemented yet.

 

But hey guys, who needs tree regrowth? we have more tree destruction tools on the way



*doesn't currently work, but IS by default in the game files, just have to add a recipe for it with item: "chainsaw" ;p

 

How can you chainsaw trees if there are none? We need tree regrowth or seeds instead of a chainsaw.

 

there's plenty of forest planets for deforestation

 

I don't really like the idea of deforesting every planet. I want to plant new trees so it will look more... (Can't say green if the grass isn't) Especially considering my starter planet is going to be my main base.
