Will price raise on release?

It's $15 right now, when 1.0 hits and the game releases, will it go up in price or will they stay at $15?

It will probably go lower on the first few days of release so people are more likely to buy it.

It's possible, but somewhat unlikely due to competition from Terraria. It could not change at all, as most people who wanted the game already have it.

I don't want it to change. If it does, I'd like the game to be on at least in a decent sale, at least 40% sometimes. In the 2 years I've been following the price through Steam I've never seen it with a decent OFF percentage.

No. When you pay for early access games, you get the finished product for "free", and Starbound is no different. I can see them lowering the price to $9.99 for a week or so after 1.0 hits, and then raising it up to $19.99 as a regular price.

 

I hope they reduce the price to draw in more players, honestly. It's always bugged me that they rarely have Starbound on sale, and I think the $15 is rather prohibitive compared to a sale price of $5. I think a general price of $10 would do amazing things in terms of drawing new players in.

Instead, we get extremely rare $10 sales. A price increase would not be a good idea, IMO.
