Sorry if it was asked already. Actually we in Russian community are curious about this fact. The main question is: will the NPCs be so helpless and easy-to kill like in Terr another sandbox games, OR they could grab some weapons and fight for their lives? Or even protect YOU while your exploring planets (kind of soldiers/mercenaries)? Will you be able to equip friendly NPCs with specific weapon? And how about neutral NPC - will they fight against player and/or monsters if attacked? We need to know:alien:
Yes! Please! You won't believe how many times the npc's in Terraria Other sandbox games die when I spawn The Destroyer a boss too close to the house!
Well some of the enemies will be humanoid, so they will use guns of all sorts. I'm not sure about being able to pick weapons up though, that hasn't been confirmed. It would be cool if you could equip body guards to travel with you. And as for neutral NPC's, those will be in game. Some enemies only turn hostile upon being attacked, while others are always hostile.
As 'neutral NPCs' I mean 'of playable species'. IE, when some randomly generated peaceful Avian village is being attacked by monsters or even by yourself, does traders and commoners resist or just die like you-know-where?
Well I'd sure as hell hope that is isn't like YOU-KNOW-WHERE with a CERTAIN CHARACTER who actually carried a gun and never used it! This would be a good mechanic though and I hope that they can actually defend themselves. I mean the Florans for example are vicious, they shouldn't just stand there and take it.
Considering that in Director mode you are able to control any NPC as if it were a character, I think it is logical to assume that they can hold and use weapons.
They should add an NPC like the Guide in Terraria. Their existence is pointless. They just walk around, wasting space. They were born to die. Just so we have a practice dummy for new weapons.
I don;t think they will be as easy, but I don't think they'll grab weapons either. They'll just be more powerful.
i'm pretty sure Tiy said something about pets. They would most likely be acting as the bodyguards you mentioned. Your home base npcs or villagers and such, I have no idea but I do hope they will defend themselves.
The NPCs, most likely, will not be similar to those of Terraria's and be a lot more responsive to enemies.
I also agree. Sometimes, when you are in different biomes in sandbox games, you and your NPC's are exposed to mobs. Even if there is a house or safezone for the NPC's, some mobs can go through material and attack them. Maybe we should equip them with weapons?
