Why you think Starbound is better than Terraria (or vice versa)

The only comparison i make with Terraria and Starbound is how much content each puts out. When Red work alone or i think with another 2 guys so a 3 man team tops and puts out giant patches chock full of content worries me when i look at starbound.

And right now, and probably for the forseable future i will perfer Terraria over starbound, just because the terraria world is way more lively , the weapons more interesting, and the bossfights more intense than what starbound has to offer right now.

Erm... about terraria beeing exhausted/finalized... terraria is getting a huge patch with a lot of new content soon apparently. Just saying.

yeah pretty much are right but starbound had room to grow around the missing elements like underground digging which they did add that on nightly build now and more.. you guys just got to wait to allow starbound to fully bloom around the time it takes to develop so.. Terraria will won by longshot for now and sooner.. but in the end Starbound will slowly won but who can says who will be good game is up to developers entirely :)

Starbound has the opportunity, just needs to reach it!

I think at Starbounds current state it is unfair to compare it to terraria since it hasn't even fully released yet. However i do think that there needs to be more quests after the distress beacon to help with progression.

More depth is always a good thing.

I think the random generation actually makes starbound less fun. Honestly, I'm not sure why so many gamers hold procedural generation as the holy grail of modern gaming. Procedural weapons means I'm either throwing away every weapon I find because it's nowhere near as good as the weapons I can craft, or I'm constantly comparing numbers on every bit of loot, which just isn't fun. I like that each weapon in Terraria is unique (minus lower-tier direct upgrade weapons) because each one behaves differently and allows different playstyles- compare using spears vs flails vs swords vs boomerangs, instead of each weapon poking at a slightly different speed and range.
Terrarias map is also procedural, but each biome is exciting, whereas Starbounds planets feel completely empty (yeah yeah, beta) and after visiting one of each type of planet I'm totally bored.

Terraria still has that feel of adventure to it for me, and whenever I do play it's usually with friends which heightens that feeling even more. However, like many people have said, Starbound has a lot of potential and it is still a fun game to play for me, the only real complaints I have about it are the lack of exciting loot and the sort-of bland feel to planets, mostly underground, but I'm sure all of that will be worked on and bettered in the future.

That is a laughable question Terraria is an actual game. This is just a cash grab. This is "The WarZ" to Terraria's "DayZ".

Maybe I'm just a moron, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out the crafting in Terraria. That alone just turned me completely off of the game. Starbound was so much more enjoyable to me.

I think Starbound is better because to me it's more addictive. I've only played 14 hours of Terraria and I got it in January, I've play around 14 of Starbound and I got it two days ago or something. And Starbound just has a better setting, and it's not riddled with massive creepy worms.
