Why must all good gear be girly..

MLP was never, is not, and will never be anything remotely "manly". It won't ever even be anything close to "mature". I will fight you to the grave on this.

I wouldn't expect such a blatant "brony" to agree with anything that remotely speaks bad about MLP, but ok, sure.

But the thing was, you may have meant it as a joke, but people have been legit trying to pass it off as such since around 2010. Happy coincidence your joke coincided with real life.

No, I wouldn't say MLP is manly. But I feel that trying to be overly-mature is ironically a very immature behavior.
We are forcing arbitrary restrictions on what we can and can't enjoy based solely on what everyone else says we can and can't enjoy.

For the record, I'm not a Brony and I don't see why people enjoy the show. But I don't have a problem with people liking specific things. If we only liked what everyone else liked, we wouldn't be individuals.

 

And I don't like anime or MLP. Woop de doo. Just another harmless fad like World War II shooters ten years ago.

I actually know people who don't like The Princess Bride! Inconceivable, I know.

 

The ironic part is fans trying to pass it off as mature or "adult", that's the only reason I said that.

But in all seriousness, armor looks are highly mitigated by the fact you can stick /any/ wearable item into the appearance slots and cover up any armor you may think looks girlish or doesn't fit you.

I marginally like anime. Too bad both anime fandoms and MLP fandoms are some of the most obnoxious, over the top in your face annoying fandoms of the century. I guess that's my opinion though, so each to their own.

INCONCEIVABLE. Clearly they have no taste. I would have them play a wine tasting game with me but I've yet to build up an immunity to the poison.

 

Now this is true. Right now I'm wearing my Robe and Wizard Hat, and I could just as easily switch into a scientist's lab coat and slacks, or wear a jacket and jeans with a dinosaur hat, all without changing my stats. The social slots kind of make the entire issue with good gear being allegedly "girly" (whatever that means, there's a serious issue with defining terms here) nonexistent.

And it's not exactly like you can make a long, hard thing like a sword or spear "girly."

I can think of a few ways, but generally that's true. I really love the social slots. Allows for so much customization without any problems such as "this armor looks stupid but has great stats". I'm sure once painting is really fully implemented you'll be able to paint away any colors you don't like on armor designs you do like, as well.

See, that's the thing, to me it looked exactly like the Master Sword with the Triforce replaced with a heart. Hearts aren't feminine, if you don't have a heart, you're dead and an organ donor. I'm ignoring the swirls as mere artistic flair - if you look at nothing but the sword itself, it's still pretty damn masculine.

I don't really see how any implement/tool is manly or feminine to be honest. I'm not going into the kitchen and looking for the manly knife when I want toast, I go for the bread knife.
I could see how you might decide against purchase of tools/implements over stylistic/aesthetic objections though.

Actually, if manliness is decided based on how badass/able to harm an item is, then surely the Mistress Sword is the manliest out of the two, considering how many pointy looking parts it has on the crosspiece?

I'm sure when the game is out all sexual preferences will be catered to. I'm satisfied seeing as how they've added a pirate hat.
