Why make Loot Disappear ?

so i have a bone sword and accidentally destroyed my 2 crates that where full to the brim with items i was going to decorate my base with

but as usual when i click in i miss-clicked and lose all my items cause my inventory was full

i seriously dont understand why they just cant make items that fall from eneimes etc etc last until the duration of the session of the game , meaning if i log out i wont get them ever again or teleport back to the planet or what not

 

Most likely they disappear to prevent lag. Have you ever blown up a bunch of stuff on Minecraft with TNT? Even after the explosion it lags like crazy because of all the dirt laying around. The timer for them disappearing on here is indeed pretty dreadful though :\

 

nothing wrong with make it last for 10 mins or so , ive just lost alot of stuff i worked my ass off for , and im sure as it gets more optimized they can make it last the session *hopefully*
