Why is there no iron past tier 2?

I get that titanium starts appearing at tier 3 and all that but like...seriously, it's really frustrating to continue getting every type of mineral EXCEPT iron, pretty much the only ore you really need past its associated armour and weapons tier level.

It's frustrating to have to continously go back to tier two planets every time I wanna farm up enough iron to get a couple of villagers, guards or capture orbs.

I'm not sure if this has been done intentionally to encourage backtracking, but I just find myself avoiding bothering with those features so as not to waste the fuel of sector transit and time spent mining on a world that you have nothing else to gain from.

 

Set your home on iron tier planet, or mine more each time you visit it, saves fuel on trips.
On the other end, tree farm, or x sector planets will give more fuel, you're ever need.

I'd rather see more of scpecific ore on the planet, than a little of everithing. I wish copper, and silver stopped spawning on later worlds.

 

It would be simpler to just have a random set of ores for each planet ... like +/- 1-3 ores... so it could be minus copper, but have titanium... its not like access to ores before you reach a tech level matters. OHH my starting planet doesnt have copper! boo hoo, drive to another planet.

Another thing I'd like, are planets completely comprimised of one type of mineral, like...a planet made of diamonds, as exist rarely in real life.

I think that'd be a fun thing to find.

Iron is so last tier.

 

Asteroids or fallen ones should be ore solid. Like iron.
All the gold, cobalt, iron, manganese, molybdenum, nickel, osmium, palladium, platinum, rhenium, rhodium, ruthenium, and tungsten mined from Earth's crust came originally from the rain of asteroids that hit Earth after the crust cooled so asteroids should be just a playpen of ore and death.

They just need to work more of ore spawning more. Maybe it will be better in the coming wipe.

As for the topic at hand, the fact that Iron falls off is nonsensical. In fact, a lot of the tier progression is currently nonsensical. We don't need ten tiers of equipment, and we especially don't need ten tiers of equipment that get steadily and completely, 100% better.

 

Maybe all the higher tier planets are anemic?

 

i find it really weird the one of the most common metals in the universe just disappears at the higher tiers, while copper is still everywhere, personally i think there should be a chance of every ore on all tiers, so even on tier 1 there could be a few pieces of plutonium, but it is super rare, but seriously iron should be on every trier, especially because it is used for so many things like the capture pods and wiring

 

I found more titanium underground (either that or platinum) on a tier 1 planet than I have iron on tier 3 and up. And I still find shit loads of copper.

 

Iron not spawning in the upper tiers didn't make any sense to me either.

 

Good to know I can stop searching for it in tier 3. Hopefully this will get changed in the future. Going back to Beta sector just to mine iron ore is not funny.
