Why is it still impossible to delete characters?

I didn't play for a bit, then came back, and noticed there is still no option to delete characters. Is there any reason why this is so?

  2. Because there are more important things for the devs to focus on. It's possible to delete characters with a bit of effort on your part, so it's not a top priority compared to actual missing functionality. It'll probably be added at some point when a dev has a bit of time to spare as they are aware people want it.

Yeah, I'd love to have a delete button on the characer screen :(
    Plz devs, add this, k?

It's not impossible to delete characterss tho. You can go to C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starbound\player and delete your character files manually

EDIT: curse your ninja skills, ordona! :lod:

Yeah well. They might have things to worry about, although a deleting button ? Seriously is that SO hard?

I know you can delete characters manually by deleting the files. Although the files doesn't really tell me who's who, so in that sense a in-game delete button would be a good thing to have

If you neglect the character you don't like you can always compare the dates of when the files were changed and delete the older ones. It's simple, really.

login game, login as the character you want to delete. Quit starbound and your most recent files are that character.

You know, I think this should be the new gaming industry's standard when it comes to character management. I hope all games from now on neglect delete character buttons. Its much more ace to muck around in your game files than to simply click a button in-game.

Going on a spelunk and destroy save files mission is one of the few things I am capable of doing in that particular area. It makes me feel like a 1337 hacker. If everybody has to learn how to do it, how can I maintain my "I may be a complete goober but at least I'm not as clueless as that guy" pseudo superiority?
