Why I won't be playing an Apex in multiplayer anymore.

Hello friend, I understand the pain you're going through but you have to understand that the internet is filled with very sad people. Heck, most of the ones who called you that were just basement dwellers with no life. No normal person would just spew the n word, unless something was wrong with them.

Take /vg/ for example, they found this thread and likely planning to troll it with the "tumblr pls go" and other useless rants, yet deep down inside, they're just pathetic people, just wishing they could have friends and a social life for that matter.

3) The whole point of the post was yes I shouldn't be affected by the mere words on the internet. But actually getting to the age of 37 has not innured or immunized me from offense at being called something used to diminish myself and my family members in the past.
4) If you mean I felt like sharing how I felt and why I was no longer playing an Apex. Then yes. If your saying I should not have done it and spared you this conversation, then you are incorrect.

Alright I'll come clean, I know I was alittle harsh on you but it just reminded me about something that happened to me earlier today, you see I was working on my car and I was REALLY dirty and I didn't smell too fresh either, some white family was on a walk and their little kid walk pass me and called me a SKUNK! the parents laughed it off, so did I - but was I gonna do? start yelling at the kid because I think she was trying to hurt my feelings? I just laughed with them awkwardly and continued working.

But after this day I'm no longer using cars, I'm selling this one and I'm going to use bikes instead.

Your saying his avatar getting called a monkey may have triggered a reaction of past things to happen to him. I'm saying so would it be ok for me to have a reaction of not trusting a cop because one pulled me over due to me being a black guy riding a bike in my neighborhood in leather coat that wasn't on the "poor" side of my town. Point is that if that is true (which I didn't read was the case so your assuming) then he needs to seek help to get past this issue, because it seems he is projecting his past issues on something that was not directed at the person playing the game. I would feel for the guy if the insults were flung at him, hell first time I played on X-Box Live a bunch a guys where going "Who is this (the lovely N word) playing Halo, I didn't think they spent their money on drugs". That I would get why he would feel bad, it's directed at him.

 

It IS a little weird though that people are making the Apex out to be "black people". I hadn't even thought about it until I read through a few more pages. I'm pretty sure they're just Apex, probably a bit inspired by The Planet of The Apes. Whatever subconscious or not rationale anyone else has over how they perceive the different species in this game has to deal with that individual's psyche.
