Man you guys sure are going "ape" shit over an opinion.

All the races are pretty pleasing to me at least, back story and explanation is just kind of a bonus for me.

Actually no, we know why we can't breed and it isn't as easy as flipping a switch. The genetic differences is too great, the two percent difference between us is huge, for reference, we share 82% of our genes with the platypus. A monotreme.

The races are essentially purely cosmetic. Of all the races, the Apex are the only ones that really disgust me, and the fact that their backstory makes no sense just adds to my dislike of them. Hence why I wont be playing once. (The backstory is important as I'm a RPer, probably should have specified that in the OP)

    As for this.

Well no not exactly. If you were to be capable of unlocking the genes in our DNA that coded for the mind of a previous evolution (assuming such genes even exist) there would be no physical change. Furthermore its a bit of a stretch to claim that a mix of intelligence and animal instinct would somehow lead to a more intelligent species. Instinct tends to be the lack of intelligence, its doing something coded in your DNA because you have to. It isn't learned behaviour, and I can't think of any way that it would somehow contribute to making us more intelligent. It still doesn't make any sense. For example, its instinctual for us to eat, that doesn't contribute to our intelligence at all.

Furthermore I'd like to add that if they don't have a real understanding of DNA, why the hell are they manipulating it on a species wide scale?

Regal Kain just tore OP to pieces in terms of an argument/discussion/debate but OP decided to ignore him with some spurious comment about believing in aliens, pretty much sums this thread up.

    ./thread inb4 lock.

I recall you making a listing of the races you like least to like most, but cannot find it again. What is your overall opinion of which races you favor again?

Yea, this thread is a little ridiculous, as a Hylotl fanboy I am all for ragging on the other races, but thats just for poops and giggles, this thread seems to have taken stuff way way to seriously.

    P.S. Damn dirty apes.

I still don't understand why this thread is still going on about this. Let him hate Apex, it won't affect us at all.

Actually he displayed an immense lack of understanding of basic science and architecture (apparently we don't understand the pyramids *giggle*) and I felt it would impact my own entertainment in the debate to continue arguing with him. So rather than waste my time, I ignored him. It's simple really.

Also the thread has been up for a while, there isn't any hostility from the majority of posters so it probably isn't going to get locked so long as we can all be civil.

    Why the Apex are awesome.

Thousands of Jewish slaves over many decades. Or, for the aztecs, probably hundreds of slaves as well.

Wow. Not informed at all. The Egyptian pyramids were not built by slaves.

Jewish slaves building the pyramids is a very common misconception. Hardly something to rag on anyone about for not knowing the truth, since most common folk simply don't know.

These three links sum it up fairly well but I can explain it to you if you don't have the time or desire to read.

Essentially, the Pyramids were built with the use of laborers (not Jewish slaves, the Moses story is false), the Egyptians kept pretty clear records of their history and through them we're able to deduce the methods by which they built the pyramids. They most probably used a tiered approach, in that each layer of the pyramid was built at a time, using several thousand laborers. It wasn't a particularly difficult task, and we are aware of the mathematics behind building a Pyramid, as were they.

People tend to think of it as a colossal task requiring technology that the Egyptians couldn't have had, which is incorrect. The pyramids took a great deal of time, planning, and labor.

One of the reasons the Ancient Aliens hypothesis holds no merit is because it has no evidence, it is an idea postulated with nothing to back it up, furthermore there are examples of what are essentially Pyramid screw ups, in which the Math was done incorrectly and the result was a skewed pyramid. I can't remember the name of the pyramid, if I do I'll let you know what it is.

Again, its no great mystery, Ancient Alien proponents like to claim that it must have been, but they don't have evidence. Their observations involve looking at a structure, failing to conceive of a method to build it without modern technology (ironically thinking with the "limited mind of modern man") and hence say "therefore aliens". Which is no different from saying "I don't know, therefore god."

    EDIT:

I don't recall claiming that I found any of the other races attractive. Just because I didn't mention them in this thread doesn't mean I think they're any more attractive than the Apex.

Could you put the images in a spoiler? They take up an awful lot of space and only serve to demonstrate your misunderstanding.
