Why I hate the Apex

I just don't like apes. Back story is interesting though.

 

dont they say elders are the wisest? maybe they took this literally and dig up their grandpas grave to get some sweet genes they greatly regret later

 

When it comes to science fiction, making perfectly realistic stories is always problematic, but I agree that it could be a bit more inspired.

But on the other hand, the ape always gets the girl...

 

Wouldn't it be more accurate to say that you like to imagine that you're a leopard?

What race are you playing? you have threads saying how much you hate two of them. Just asking.

 

Theres seven races, I'm going to play one of the other five at my disposal. The first two are going to be Human and Glitch.

Also I don't hate Novakids, I'm just not going to play as one. (edited)

 

The biologist in me demands a more fleshed out explanation for how selecting for genes that promote higher brain functionality caused the expression of genes that resulted in a more primitive appearance, but I'm willing to suspend my disbelief and go along with it. Could've been the information remained in their genome somehow by highly unusual chance and extensive splicing allowed drastic phenotypic changes to be expressed along with truly desired genes by linkage (hurts just theorizing it).

Hell, they could have noticed VEP brought back some vestigial structures/features and found their culture quite liked resembling apes. In order to "cope" with the reality, I have to assume that the choices made followed some form of procreative beneficence principle and the civilization accepted the trade-off or beneficial side effect (depending on their cultural views) as worth having around. I'm with Zomgmeister - tweaking here and there could make things more believable, especially if they truly wanted to return to ape-like appearance for cultural reasons.

It's just a game, though, and I am leaning towards playing a Floran or Avian anyway. I dig the central American native vibe.

 

I don't see why you need multiple threads telling people why you won't be playing each and every race either.

at the very least, just put it into one big thread. No one can possibly care that much why you won't be playing a certain race.

 

You'll find that the vast majority of threads on this forum involve someone sharing their opinion or asking the opinion of the forum goers. There doesn't need to be a reason, its done for the enjoyment of the OP, why is this such an issue with you? You may not find it enjoyable to do so but I certainly do, hence why I do it. Calm down man.

Again, why do people keep pointing this out? I'm aware no one cares, I don't have delusions of grandeur, I am one person living in the 22 million population Australia in the seven billion population Earth. People don't make threads on forums because they think people care, at least I don't anyway, I make them to have discussions. Please, say something relevant or don't say anything at all.

 

Honestly, I am ALL for a little more reality and people examining things, not taking them at face value and not being afraid of a little criticism.
This place needs it.

Hehehe i like this guy. He says what he's thinking. I also dont like the Apex, i also make a bow around real apes and monkeys, don't know why, maybe because they remind me to much at humans. But i have to say that the "ambience" is awesome i like the cold and clean portal-like surgery style.
