Hobo style is the way to go guys. Live in one shelter then another. Although, I always like making some flimsy pathetic hut to live the night.

Another reason not to build is that you arent able to set your own spawnpoint. :/

For me, before the addition of 'warp home' the issue was that I was a 5 year old kid sitting in the sand and some people gave me some cool stuff and said "You can build a cool sand castle!". After I started it seems about every 5 minutes they'd drop a pile of WAY cooler stuff 40ft from where I started... and it only got farther and farther =[. Warp hope helps a lot. But still, we're limited to warp home. And can't warp to any other places.

But your statement seems to be directed towards the OP and with that I have to agree, sadly. If you're bored of what you build on your own, that can't be helped. =[ SAD FACE!

A small warp platform would be super dope, to control where you would land on planet.

    That would be cool indeed.

I agree with you on all points really. The warp home is brilliant because it lets me keep my base. But then, my first base is a rustic wood-and-stone affair. What about when I have access to more interesting materials? I have to build progressively far from the landing point or move to a new planet, abandoning my old base. It's frustrating, either tearing apart the old home for everything I want to take with me, or consigning it to the vastness of the universe.

I'm pretty sure that at some point there was mention of a feature where we would be able to bookmark co-ordinates. That would help a lot. I don't even mind paying the fuel cost,as long as I know I can get back to a few select worlds when I wish to, without having to write them all down in a file somewhere.

I do not feel that you should be forced to building a home. If you want to simply venture on into the world go for it.
However there are those who want to create an impact on a planet and turn it into their very own unique home. That part of the game exist for them and now those who dont want to settle down dont have too.

I prsonaly downloaded a fully customizable ship mod, WICH forces me to build. Ofcourse Starbounbd is really early beta. So i think all can change.

being able to bookmark co-ords would be cool add in the rename world feature as well and boom you got your own empire

    Err...

Did you guys completely forget about space stations being basically what "homes" will be or did you just want that badly to build on a planet ?

thats not accounting all the rest of the game yet to be implemented like guilds and new ship types ?

I would like if you built your colonies for people to settle in and maybe they could pay taxes to you. You could pay them to open up cool shops but you would also have to pay for defence in case of invaders/space pirates.
