Why does this keep happening?! Wires keep reseting!

This is what I have on my ship. The problem: I am leaving my ship, logging off, or going somewhere else on my ship and when I come back - some of the wires are undone!! Why does this happen? This is incredibly annoying and is messing me up very much. These wires were already incredibly frustrating to set up, I don't need them to come undone every time I leave the area! Fix this, Chucklefish, or someone enlighten me to why this is happening. Am I doing something wrong?

I just noticed, you can even see one of the wires I forgot to fix in the screenshot (the one next to where I'm standing in the cluster of boxes).

For comparison, I just left my ship after posting this thread, and now see how it looks like.... Luckily, it was only 1 wire this time.

And once more it happens. The top switches were unwired as well as the entrance door again. I CAN REPRODUCE THIS ISSUE 100% OF THE TIME.

It isn't completely random, I've noticed. The image here ^^ is the most common occurrence of unwiring by a fair amount (the same 3 wires).

No it's a bug. I've been having this problem since the last patch, when they were working before. Specificlly the problem for me is when connecting from a door output, to another door's input

Okay, I'll post it in the bug section then....

This bug needs to be fixed ASAP. The switches have unwired themselves in such a way that I'm now crashing when getting near them. Wonderful.

Anyone have any workarounds to the unwiring? Fixed my save by loading a backup.

It sounds like the wires aren't saved properly. Maybe it's because that massive thing is your ship?

No this is happening on my asteroid base too (And it's not a highly wired facility, it's a simple door-to-door NOT gate); besides - if the game can't handle that little thing, how's it meant to handle complex wiring on a massive planetside base

Same is happening for me and I don't have a modded ship, large amounts of wire or door to door connections so none of that is the cause. It's consistently the same two wires for me.

Judging by your screenshots, you know a lot more about wiring than I do... is it alright if I ask a question? If not, just ignore the following, please.

I was trying to set up two switches that controlled the same doors. Basically, a building would have a switch outside both entrances, and activating the switch would open all doors inside. However, this didn't seem possible, because if I opened the doors with one switch, the other switch wouldn't do anything; the doors could only be closed by the same switch that opened them. Is it possible to tie multiple switches together, so that when one is toggled, the other is toggled? This way, if I hit the switch on the left side of the building when I was entering, I could just hit the switch on the right side when I was exiting to close the doors again. In my extremely limited experience with wiring, red cannot be linked to red, so switches cannot be tied together. Am I doing something wrong, am I using the wrong kind of switch (Impervium console, if I remember correctly)?

If I'm reading your question correctly, just place an OR switch connecting the two switches and the door.

OR won't work, XOR will. You can't actually change the console state with an input, but connecting both to an XOR gate and then that to the doors means that whichever one you click will always toggle the doors.

Where does one get logic components, such as OR or XOR? Can they be crafted, or must they be purchased from a vendor? Or am I misunderstanding what you're telling me? I swear I've seen actual components in someone's inventory before...

At the robotic crafting table you can make a wiring station. You can then use that to get all the recipes for the wiring components.

How do you even get switches to work? I'm trying to wire up an X OR switch for my doors, but it never accepts any input from either of the activators.

It must be some issue with the server or server properties., works fine on single player.

Is that something new? I'm running Offended Koala, and a wiring station isn't in my list of craftable objects in the robotic crafting table. Do I maybe have to find the schematic for it or something?

Yep it's new, you'll need to upgrade to Angry Koala.

Wait, sorry, this is completly off topic because I don't know anything about wiring but...you said that's your ship?D: how do I make my ship have that much space?! D:

Mods, you can't do it with the vanilla game.

The same thing happens to me. It is not the number of wires, I have had just and alarm wired to a door on one of my characters ships, no mods at all, and thats the only wire and it goes away when you leave the screen. It happens online or offline.

It is not chronological either, I have a huge machine with wires all over, and its always the same wires that go away and they are not the first or last wired created.

It happens when all players are too far out of the screen or port to their ship, or save and come back etc. it has to be a memory issue and a certain kinda of wiring that is not saving imo.

Really a pain in the butt because I want so badly to play with the wires, and show off what I made to people.

Also it seems to be mostly related to wiring involving doors, not so much wires between the gates themselves. I have had an impervium console loose its wire, as well as a pressure plate to a giant glitch door.

I had two giant glitch doors separate each with two pressure plates wired to them, and only one door, only one of the pressure plates wire disappeared everytime, I tried moving the switch same problem. Hard to understand the pattern as to why it would do that.
